MONCEAU-SUR-SAMBRE, Belgium, Dec. 5 - Muriel Degauque, believed to be the first European Muslim woman to stage a suicide attack, started out life as a good Roman Catholic girl in this coal mining corner of Belgium known as the black country. She ended it in a grisly blast deep inside Iraq last month.

Ms. Degauque had several boyfriends after that and worked at the restaurant of one for a while. She eventually met an Algerian man who introduced her to Islam. She began appearing at her parents' home wearing a head scarf.
Her mother told neighbors that she was pleased because Islam had helped her daughter stop drinking and doing drugs. But her devotion became disturbing several years later after she met and married Issam Goris, the son of a Belgian man and Moroccan woman. Mr. Goris with his long beard was already known to Belgian Police as a radical Islamist. Ms. Degauque moved with him to Brussels and then to Morocco, where she learned Arabic and studied the Koran.
When she returned, she wore not only a head scarf but the full length robe worn by Muslim women of North Africa. She and Mr. Goris moved to a one-bedroom apartment a few blocks from his mother in the largely immigrant neighborhood near Brussels' Midi train station. The building's owner, who gave his name only as Mahmed, said she collected unemployment checks. It is not clear what her husband did.

Well she was obviously nuts. She had been for years, unable to decide her own identity she followed the role men gave her and eventually fell in with a man as nutty as she was. Kind of reminds me of Jane Fonda, who always parrots the beliefs of her current man.
Sad that she killed a bunch of innocent people. Good that her husband didn't manage to carry out his plan. By the way what does a female Muslim bomber get? I know the men are supposed to get 72 virgins but I can't imagine what wonderful prize the women would be promised.

There is a reason for this and I don't want anyone to misinterpret this as support for Islam. Anyone who knows my history here, knows full well that I think Islam must be eradicated. However, Islam is paternalistic in nature and has a tendency to create in its male adherents, a sense of control which attracts women. In a way, it is the nature of the sexual beast. It is, in fact, natural, for women to want to be with a man who appears to be in control; who is powerful in a male sense (not necessarily physically, although that helps). European women are finding fewer men with these traits because European men have been feminized. Islamic men, therefore, are becoming more attractive to women. If the Islamic male is a radical, his ideas, coupled with that sense of power and control, then have the ability to exert themselves over the female. I would suggest that if non-Muslim men continue to allow themselves to be feminized, this dangerous trend will continue.
Islam is a good religion for people who don't like personal freedom.

The way I read the article, she was only succesful at killing one person -- herself -- so she killed just one person in the area that was gulty. She was only "successful" at wounding one American soldier.

Islam is a Cult.
Like Cults everywhere, they actively seek out and attempt to recruit and indoctrinate the most vulnerable members of society - people with little or nothing to live for and give them a purpose in life - or death.
Muslims are actively seducing non-Islamic women and recruiting them for their own purposes - particularly women with little or no self-esteem and drug problems. They are active in recruiting males in prisons, and marginal members of society.
They are a dangerous, disruptive menace, totally incompatible with western civilization.
Read "Onwards Muslim Soldiers". Better yet, read the Quran and the Haddiths and check out some Islamic websites. It will enlighten you as to the very dangerous nature of the enemy in our midst.

I wonder what the suicide bomber looked like under her burka? Odds are she was homely, lonely, weak, depressed, and vulnerable. She was likely the type of person who would be ripe to join a cult or a loser/abuser type of guy.
The article also claims she was 'raised a Catholic.' I have to question after she was 'born'& 'baptized' Catholic if the faith ended in her infancy. Most likely she was raised in a typical European CINO family. This woman was spiritually seeking some direction to justify her miserable existence and instead of turning to her Catholic faith she fell in with the devil who has now given her his do.
