My wife and I have read all to books to date. We speculate that the last horcrux is the scar on Harry's forehead. The last book indicated that all the horcrux's (whats the plural of horcrux?) will have to be found and destroyed in order to eliminate Voldamort.
Now THAT'S a plausible theory. I think the plural is "horcruces", BTW.
Interesting.
Did you also note the shape of the phoenix rising at Dumbledore's funeral?
Does that mean that Dumbledore is coming back and his death was faked in order to allow him greater mobility and anonymity in order to help Harry defeat Voldemort?
Was Dumbledore begging for his life or was he begging Snape to do what he had instructed him to do, knowing that he (Dumbledore) had discovered a defense against the killing curse (but not tested it)?
Is Snape REALLY the total turd that we think or has he been put into a terribly crappy situation by Dumbledore and circumstances?
Will the child actress who plays Ginny Weasley get any prettier or are is Harry destined to have to date a homely girl?
You and I are on the same train of thought.
"And either must die at the hand of the other, for neither can live while the other survives..."
Let's see. Voldemort was obviously going to use Harry's death to create a (his final?) horcrux, but something went terribly wrong. Instead the final horcrux was Nagini the snake created when he killed the groundskeeper.
This has been speculated by some, and here's the reason I think it doesn't work:
Near the end of OOtP, Voldemort momentarily "entered" (posessed? You get it) Harry. In these few moments, Harry wished that he was dead, so he could be with Sirius. Upon thinking of Sirius, Harry is filled with love for him, and Voldemort cannot remain in his body any longer. Dumbledore explained it later, in his office, to Harry--Voldemort could not reside in a being so filled with a power--love--that he hates. I think the same could be said for a portion of his soul. I believe it would be unendurable.
With regard to the last word of the final book being "scar," I think it will be something along the lines of : "And, for the first time in his life, the lightning-shaped figure on his forehead was nothing more than a common scar."
