Hi jonny. No, actually I did not get the photobucket thing worked out. I had an account not long ago that seems to have vanished.

I don't know how much time I will have today, but by tomorrow I hope I will be able to master it. Thanks for the offer ... I may need to take you up on that. ;*)

Checking back in...did you miss me? Yeah, sure you did. :-)

Seriously, I and my elderly mom (ill with Dementia) moved to a different house and have been out of touch for a time. It is only two addresses from where we have lived for 7 years, believe it or not. But a better place for us to be; quite a few advantages over the old one.

Good to be back, even if you didn't know I was gone!

To all: Considering the fact that Robert Redford hates the President and would probably much prefer being honored in the presence of say, Fidel Castro the Communist Dictator, I imagine the whole event was a challenge for him to maintain his demeanor. Robert REDford. What a disappointment.

Its hard with a parent with dementia my we nursed my mum for 6 years - 3 bad with it before we had to find a home for her.

After her fall last month she has today gone back to the home fingers crossed that she will not fall again, I do worry that there will not be enough supervision.

Additionally, how would any of us like to have to play kissy-face with someone who was on record as hating us - in the media and elsewhere, shaking hands, making nice, and having to act like it didn't bother us? I couldn't do it. I'd probably just want to smash Redford's face in. But that's just me.

Of course you understand how it is, snugs. I know that. My mother shoud be in a care institution if one "goes by the book", but I am determined to look after her here to the last day it is possible. Most everyone else would think she has crossed over that line, but I am still holding out. I am sure you did what you had to do, when you had to do it.

I have to work and dad could not cope during the day any longer and I must admit after having worked all day it was very hard to cope with in the evenings.

Also we had the problem that she often wandered in the night thanks to a lot of prayer of freepers we managed to carry on for a few months longer but in the end with dad's health and the fact I do a demanding (mentally) full time job we could unfortunately no longer cope with her at home.

I can understand you wanting to keep your mother at home as long as you can but do not feel you have failed if in the end you have to put her in residential care. As the manager of the care home put it to dad you are still caring for by letting us care for her.

I DO love the toaster...I am sorry about not getting back to thank you before now...

I couldn't believe that I was the first last night...and I was really excited, then my daugher, (whose house I am staying at for 10 days)...asked if she could use HER computer to order so Christmas presents...

I said sure...thinking it would be an hour or so...but, she finally quit at midnight last night...I was already in bed...sigh

I HOPE I am able to visit more tonight...but, it is her computer...so I will just have to see.

Thanks again, snugs...I hope you didn't think I was ignoring you last night.

No problem I guessed you were tied up on something else or you would have got back but I thought I would take the liability of choosing the toaster for you. As you had remarked you liked the ones in the plant I thought the one of him playing around with what I think is the overhead crane controls would be a good choice. And it proved so - hope to catch you tonight.
