What ethnicity are Lebanese Christians then?

Some of them are from the old Phoenician ancestry, some are from Syriac (not the same as Syrian) ancestry, some of them are from Greek and Roman ancestry. No Christians in Lebanon or the whole of Middle East were converted to Christianity since the Muslim Arab invasion of the 7th century because the opposite happened i.e. most Christians then were forced by the power of sword and economic conditions to convert to Islam. The Christians who live now in Lebanon and the Middle East have Christians roots long before the 7th century and the vast majority of them are not Arabs.

And Lebanese Christians are most likely Israelis who were converted to Christianity at the time of the Apostles.

When you read that piece, those of Lebanese descent are Arab. This minutia of "ancestry" and what makes up "etnicity" gets sliced and diced too much. History of the region from hundreds or thousands of years ago is meaningless. Lebanese today are Arab. Heck, Syria controlled them for three decades recently.

Sometimes people get too minutia oriented. Every major source of info lists Lebanon as Arab, regardless of whether or not they are Christian, or what percent are Christian.
