Thousands of people are expected to take to the streets across Australia today calling on the Government to ratify the Kyoto Protocol.
The "Walk Against Warming" is happening around the world as part of an international day of action to coincide with UN climate change talks in Montreal.
One-hundred and eighty countries are meeting in the Canadian city, but as Jennifer Macey reports, Australia's failure to ratify the Kyoto Protocol could leave it excluded from much of the debate.

No kidding! Energy expenditure is energy expenditure. They would do the environment more good by staying in bed all day with nothing electrical on.

"Australia's failure to ratify the Kyoto Protocol could leave it excluded from much of the debate." As if that would be a bad thing.

no kidding.
There's global warming on pluto, mars, and (the moon) titan.
But of course it's those EVIL SUVS and their EVIL AMERICAN DRIVERS who are causing global warming.
Just ask John Kerry. Bush outsourced that too.

Think of all the CO2 they are going exhale during the walk! Not for long. When Australia ratifies the Kyoto Treaty, most of those people will lose their jobs. Then they can sit at home and take shallow breaths. Plus, they won't be generating greenhouse gasses by driving to work.

Yes, these wacked out walkers were lemmings in a former life. They all work themselves into a frenzy and run in large mass migrations over cliffs to their deaths. I guess there is no escaping former behaviour patterns.
Watch them form up and cry slogans which can all be reduced to one:
"We are chicken littles and the SKY IS FALLING!"

Its funny because Australia is going to enter into summer season soon. What is it with the Aussie Left, weather's too warm for them?

I guess they haven't heard that Europe has cancelled global warming due to the expected onset of a mini-ice age there.
Also, NASA has determined that methane is NOT produced soley as a by-product of burning fossil fuels. They have confirmed that Saturn's moon Titan has bunches of methane and no known fossil fuel source or evil SUVs to cause "GW".

Maybe they can come walk in Las Vegas where we have just had the coldest November in history. (averaged only 59 degres highs). Or maybe the people in Missouri or Kansas would like a few thousand people warming things up for them. Can I get a shout out?
