I agree with you but when they put up pictures of Christmas stockings and Christmas trees and rename them "holiday" whatevers, that's just a conscious effort dissassociate things that are uniquely Christmas from the actual holiday, Christmas. Frankly, it's dishonest and disrespectful. It's stupid and I do not support it in the least.
That's what irks me, too. On their Christmas pages they should say, "Merry Christmas", to honor those customers. Same goes for those pages denoting Kwanza (as if that's a real holiday) gifts to say, "Happy Kwanza" or whatever holiday they are catering to.
Good points...I agree with you.
I'm not in the retail business, but I imagine the retailers really just want to sell as much as they can during the season, and by calling it the holidays, they probably can get more sales that way.
