Several things struck me as bizarre. Do you remember the CIA "analysis" showing how TWA 800 shot itself down? Only a politicized and corrupted CIA would have lent themselves to a pantomime such as that one.

I remember the immediate leak to the press when Czech intel reported Atta had met with Iraqi intel. The leak was immediate, within a couple of hours. When the Czechs reiterated their claim, with the Czech president swearing by it, the CIA leak was again immediate. And what was the basis of the CIA's denial? When you dig down deep, their denial that it occurred is based on the fact that they didn't witness it. Nothing more.

But it was essential to debunk a story they couldn't in honesty deny, because to not deny it was to aid the president.

The whole Niger affair smells the same. They held a fake investigation, and then made the results public. When Navy intel reported a warehouse full of contraband uranium, they refused to go and look. The whole "fake documents" episode seems to have been a French intel sting operation, to which CIA was a willing accomplice.

Again and again, in the aftermath of the war, nerve agent stockpiles were found at Iraqi ammo dumps, and then dismissed as "bug poison", as if there were some essential difference between the two, and as if it was normal to store pesticides in a military ammo dump. We are still wondering whatever happened to all of those chemical weapons when in fact we've re-defined them out of existence.

There is something very strange going on over there, and they almost succeeded in taking out a president. Some are already calling it an attempted coup, and I would concur.

CIA gets paid to do this kind of thing overseas. They are not supposed to do it within the US.

Well.....Fritgerald is still going. Goss (appointed by Bush) has him investigating more than a pencil pusher leak. Let's see if Fritz is as apolitical as the democrats claim he is.

Their anti-Bush campaign has to rank as one of their most successful operations in decades.

*Damn right. The "Plame Affair" was a CIA "Blame Bush" Plot.

As for the CIA, end it, don't mend it
