Dubya should concentrate on doing what he believes is right instead of looking at policies from the prism of polls as the Slick One used to do ( no thanks to Dick Morris ).

The Panic of 1893 hit soon after Cleveland began his second term, and he became very unpopular because of the severe depression which the country suffered through for several years. The election of 1894 was one of the great turn-arounds in US political history: the House of Representatives went from having a 218-127 Democratic majority to having a 244-105 Republican majority. The Republicans also recaptured the Senate. (There were a few seats held by third-party members.)

I belive this article is true. So whats the problem then? Its Bush's PR, which is atrocious. In this town, perception is reality and Bush needs to continue what he started this month and come out fighting and campaigning.

Kennedy wasn't even allowed to serve out his first, yet his appeal was so strong it's generally agreed that a majority of the voters would have reelected him. We need to kill this myth.
He was in office a little more than 2 and half years.
Bay of Pigs Scandal.
Assassination of President Diem of South Vietnam (we killed our own ally).
Cuban Missile Crisis.
He had enormous trouble passing legisalation.
He went to Dallas because he was losing popularity rapidly in LBJ's state.
He was on the way to being Jimmy Carter. Fortunately, for him, he was martyred.

The First 300 Days [Don't Believe The Defeatism Of The Liberal MSM]
Polipundit ^ | Nov. 28, 2005 | Jason Javitz
Its been roughly 300 days since George W. Bush and Congress began their latest terms in office.
Here are some of the positive things the Congress and the White House have accomplished over that 10-month period:
1) The Senate confirmed seven of President Bushs nominees to the federal appeals courts: Janice Rogers Brown, Priscilla Owen, William Pryor, Richard Griffin, David McKeague, Thomas Griffith, and Susan Neilson. Each of those jurists previously had their nominations blocked or filibustered by the MediaCrats when Tom D . . . Tom Dash . . . er, you know, was running that caucus.
2) The Senate confirmed John Roberts who ruled as a member of the D.C. Circuit in favor of the Bush administration on the Gitmo and Energy Task Force cases to be Chief Justice of the United States. The man is 50 years old.
3) Pro-gun liability reforms were passed and signed into law.
4) The CAFTA free-trade statute was passed and signed into law.
5) The first slate of what ultimately will be a series of legislated immigration and border control reforms Real ID Act, asylum reforms, and stepped-up funding for our border control operations were passed and signed into law. Thats in addition to stepped-up border control measures on the streets, e.g., Operation Community Shield and the Secure Border Initiative.
6) Comprehensive energy policy reforms including massive expansions of our nuclear and natural gas capabilities were passed and signed into law.
Just check in, oh, say, 10 years further down the road. Youll be able at that juncture to remember this piece of legislation. Because youll be seeing new state-of-the-art nuclear power plants and new liquefied natural gas facilities dotting the landscapes of various states west of the Mississippi and south of the Mason-Dixon line.
7) Comprehensive bankruptcy reforms were passed and signed into law.
8) Comprehensive class action lawsuit reforms were passed and signed into law.
There is more than one full year remaining in this Congress.
There are more than three full years remaining in this presidency.

Isn't it a little early to be rating Pres. Bush's second term?

John F. Kennedy....Kennedy wasn't even allowed to serve out his first, yet his appeal was so strong it's generally agreed that a majority of the voters would have reelected him.
This is a stupid addition to the list of presidents who DID HAVE a positive 2nd term.
Kennedy never finished even 1 term.
Anything said about his 2nd term that he never had is pure partisan imagining.
