I have a question, folks. I heard on the news on my local a.m. talk show that a United Airline plane was shot at shortly after take off in California. The news report stated that it was a rocket of some sort but that "officials do not believe that it was a serious matter". I cannot find anything about this on any website, no MSM sources, no newspapers. What gives? Can anyone find out more about this? I'm not even sure what day it happened, only that it was over the weekend. Thanks buddies.

The government may not want to admit it, but I think that would be a mistake. The best way to handle things is to have promt accurate information published...
Government and law enforcement response to these things is too often to either minimize or to deny the facts.
The Clinton administration's cover-up of the TWA 800 bombing, and of the Iraqi connection to the OKC bombing, come to mind.
I can think of only one good reason for gov't to mislead the public in these situations -- and that would be if acknowledging the truth were to cause more panic, mayhem, and death, than obscuring it.
Bottle rocket?
