This is a stupid youthful lie. Not a big deal for me and I don't like Bill Richardson.

Agreed. Baseball drafts had a ridiculously high number of rounds when richardson was young, and still do to some extent. I think its only 50 or so now, but it used to be even more because of all the minor leagues. It's possible that someone might have believed they were drafted in a very late round and actually weren't.

Amen! For one thing, why did it take the media nearly 40 years to discover and/or announce this?

Because (drum roll please) he is a Democrat. "Journalists" don't normally investigate their own.

It isn't the youthful lie that's getting him in deeper, it's this..."After being notified of the situation and after researching the matter ... I came to the conclusion that I was not drafted by the A's," . LOL. What a joke!

And I served as batting coach for Babe Ruth and it was my idea for the Babe, my dear friend to point to right field before he hit that legendary home run.

Yessir, we had some mighty good laughs and downed some pints over that one. Also, I suggested naming a candy bar after the Babe and gave Joe Dimaggio the idea to market coffee brewers.

This is the tip of the iceberg. I do not like or trust Richardson. This man has no charisma and not even the Hispanic Americans are wild about his prospects for higher national office.

He was drafted by the A's before he wasn't drafted by the A's.

but wouldn't any team that bothered to draft a guy actually get in touch with said guy at some point?

Let me get this right . . . . .

Clinton was drafted for Viet Nam and claimed he wasn't . . . .

Richardson claims he was drafted by the A's and he wasn't. . . . .

Two peas in a lying, stinking, deceptive pod.

If he lied about something as silly as this, what else has he lied about? He's toast.

Unfortunately not so. Remember how the LameSteam MeJihia used to marvel daily at what a clever liar Slick Willie was ...

Yep, saw L.A. listening to Sheryl Crow during the half-time show.

Being a Redskin fan and all, I especially liked how the girlz lost to to Broncos in OT.

"It's possible that someone might have believed they were drafted in a very late round and actually weren't."

As someone who was drafted (Dodgers) I can tell you that we all knew our draft number. It was much better known then than it is now.
I'd like to know the name of the Dodger scout he is talking about.

The guy was Clinton's chief operator in getting nuke intelligence to the Chinese when he was in the Dept of Energy.

He's taking a page from Clinton's handbook. Admit to a small lie to cover up the big one!

This is a serious case of speaking with a forked tongue.
