(IsraelNN.com) Moments ago, the Israeli parliament voted to dissolve itself with no objections. The final vote was 84 in favor of a motion to dissolve the 16th Knesset, with zero opposed.
The vote spares President Moshe Katsav the necessity of deciding to declare the Knesset disbanded as a result of a request from the acting prime minister, Ariel Sharon.
New national elections will take place in the month of March, 2006.

They would anyways. The Knessett makes law (like the US House/Senate), they don't run anythign but their mouths. This dissolution doesn't effect the executive branch.

I am very ignorant of Israeli politics. Does Benjamin Netanyahu have a horse in this race?

That's for the Israeli voters to decide, not for us onlookers.

Big Benny will run with the Likud party and I'm hopeful that he wins. The pallys will want anyone but him, which means that he is the best.

I always found Netanyahu disconcerting: for a foreign guy, he speaks English a lot better than most Americans! ;-)

Does Benjamin Netanyahu have a horse in this race? His horse is the survival of his country.

Does Benjamin Netanyahu have a horse in this race? Yes, running at 10-1 if the recent poll showing him down 25points is correct.
