Not usually. In an election year, they might bring their scheduler, who is the one person allowed by law to work for both the Congressional staff and the campaign staff. Most of the time they don't need to bring aides from Washington, because they already have fully-staffed offices back in the district.

Yup. The spouses are at home and the kids are in school. You'd be surprised how many members of Congress keep up their residences back home, and basically live like college kids while in DC -- roommates, bunk beds, and pretty spartan accommodations. It's the ones who start to feel more at home in DC than they do "back home" that you need to worry about.

Good question. Could it be lobbyist financed private jet? Do you suppose the house ethics committee OR maybe even the Orange County Register (our local "investigative" newspaper) will check out her finances?
