Perle claimed Saudi Arabia was no ally of the United States and that the Saudi royal family had allowed terrorist ideology to flourish within its borders and beyond. He called the U.S. government`s continued friendship with the Middle East nation the result of an intelligence failure worse than that concerning the Sept. 11 attacks.
'It is one of the greatest intelligence failures of the century that the rise of extremist institutions inspired culturally and intellectually by the Wahhabis in Saudi Arabia went so unmarked,' Perle told a group at the conservative Hudson Institute. 'This seems to me a far larger intelligence failure than the failure to anticipate the details of Sept. 11 because it was a huge and highly visible trend over many years.'

Send in the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and anyone else who wants to go.
Start pumping more oil and give the money to los pobres of the Subcontinent.
The House of Saud is a sewer of corruption.
Hopefully just one thing at a time, clean up Iraq and then decide if Syria or SA is next - Iran will have to be pressured to clean itself up.
About time someone said this.
The Saudi family has about as much right to rule the entire peninsula as the Jones family has to rule Idaho. . .
The problem with Saudi Arabia is Mecca and Medina. SA needs a regime change but a non-muslim nation invading it would certainly incite a true holy war.
I beg to differ. There were intelligence failures prior to 911, chief among them was the failure of a disjointed federal govt.to "connect the dots."
In the case of the Saudis, I'm afraid that the dots are connected and are being overlooked due to graft and corruption in our govt.
Saudi Arabia is run by a family, it is a nation named after a family.
During the Six-Day War, the Saudis, although being the guilty party, expected the US to support it against Israel. This didn't happen, unfortunately for the Saudis.
I guess that grudge is still alive...
Yes, we were discussing this way back there, when Afghanistan was liberated.
We were talking about the order in which the U.S. would take the WOT to their countries.
Well from what i have observed they have been bringing religious war to us for about three decades.
Arafat and his hacks were stealing planes and killing innocent folks for years.
The Hashemite Kingdom might be up to the task!!
This @sshole has so utterly destroyed any shred of credibility he ever had that I'm kind of surprised to see that he still bothers to surface every now and then to spout his nonsense.
Before the entry of the USA into WWI, the German ambassador tried to intimidate the Wilson administration from taking action against the Kaiser, by pointing out that there were 20 million Americans of German extraction, who would not be happy about going to war with Germany.
An administration official replied to him, that, by a lucky coincidence, we had exactly 20 million lampposts from which to hang traitors.
To bring this up to date: There's 1.2 billion muslims mad at us? By a lucky coincidence, our military posseses exactly 1.2 billion rounds of ammo.
The muslims need to start paying A LOT MORE attention to what we think of them, and A LOT LESS attention to what they think of us.
Or the Byrd family in W VA
While the war in Iraq has some people scratching their heads, I think a war in SA would be greeted by almost unanimous support. The case is so easy to build - wahabism to terror, plus the money, photos of women being buried to their waists and stoned, hands chopped off, 15 Saudi 911 hijackers, high price of gas, etc. etc. You'd have to put barbed wire around the recruiting stations to keep too many Americans from signing up.
You might have also pointed out we also have at least several million blatent loud-mouthed seditionist traitors in the country including the knee-jerk leftists on capitol hill, univ campuses, mainstream media, CAIR and the hundreds of islamic wahabbi schools across the country, and we probably have a sufficient number of lamposts that can be used for hanging same. For my money it's time to cancel the immunities. The sooner the better.

Perle is just p**ed that his latest Saudi/Israeli cheque bounced. He's not particular about the signiture on the cheque.
If he ever published a tell all book he would have to pay for the printing costs out of his own pocket.
He's a PNAC hack and talking head and he is definitely not as smart as he thinks he is.
The SA kingdom is untouchable because of Oil and Mecca. It's an unfortunate reality that is never going to go away.
Don't bet on it beaver. In the event of a serious WMD attack here in the US, Mecca may vanish. In the event Isreal gets pushed into a corner by the islamofascists and "world community", Mecca may vanish. I suspect both Mecca and Medina are on the table as "bargaining chips".
