BAGHDAD (Army News Service, Nov. 17, 2005) -- Alert Iraqi neighborhood watch members in east Baghdad stopped a potential car bomb attack Nov. 15.

Shortly before 6 p.m., local residents noticed a suspicious vehicle getting fuel from a roadside gasoline dealer.

When the neighborhood watch members approached the driver, he pulled a pistol and pointed it at them and then attempted to flee.

“The citizens tried to stop the suspect but were unsuccessful,” said Oday Fakhan, the leader of the neighborhood watch in the area.

As he fled, the would-be car bomber attempted to highjack a get-away vehicle at gunpoint, but failed in his first attempt. The driver of another vehicle, a taxi, allowed the suspect to enter and took him to a neighborhood in Baladiat, a suburb in east Baghdad. Iraqi Police were called in and secured the area around the suspicious vehicle.

The taxi driver returned to the scene after dropping off the suspect.

“The taxi driver told us that during the ride, the suspect used his cell phone to call his uncle to inform him that the operation had failed,” Fakhan said. Iraqi Police interviewed the taxi driver and got a description of the suspect. A search is ongoing.

An Iraqi Police explosives ordnance disposal team was called to the scene to investigate the suspicious vehicle and found it was wired with five 155-millimeter artillery rounds and other explosives embedded in the trunk and doors. The Iraqi EOD team deactivated the explosives. The car and explosives were moved to the Rusafa Police Station for further investigation.

This is the CNN/Mainstream Media Hate Bush at all costs version below:

November 17, 2005

BAGHDAD (Healing White Light News Service, Nov. 17, 2005)

-- Thuggish Coalition collaborators in east Baghdad stopped a potential freedom fighter operation Nov. 15.

Shortly before 6 p.m., local residents noticed an innocent vehicle getting fuel from a roadside gasoline dealer.

When the collaborators approached the driver, he pulled a stuffed toy and tried to give it to them and then was forced to flee for his life.

“The collaborators tried to kill the freedom fighter but were unsuccessful,” said Oday Fakhan, the leader of the Iraqi Citizens for Emperor Bush in the area.

As he fled, the would-be freedom fighter attempted to gain assistance from a passing motorist, who spit on him and drove away. The driver of another vehicle, a taxi, allowed the innocent man to enter and took him to a neighborhood in Baladiat, a suburb in east Baghdad. Iraqi Fascist Police were called in and secured the area around the innocent vehicle.

The taxi driver returned to the scene after dropping off the charming young man.

“The taxi driver told us that during the ride, the suspect used his cell phone to call his uncle to inform him that Karl Rove tried to kill him,” Fakhan said. Iraqi Police interviewed the taxi driver and got a description of the young man and his stuffed animal. A search is ongoing.

An Iraqi Police explosives ordnance disposal team was called to the scene to investigate the innocent vehicle and found it was filled with toys and candy for all the orphans George Bush created when he killed their parents with illegal cluster bombs and napalm. The Iraqi Facist EOD team blew up the toys and candy.

Neighborhood watch program. Lots of interesting things going on in Iraq which we never hear of. Sounds to me like we are well on the way to winning the war. We have taken the war right to the Syrian border and maybe a little beyond. Hehehehehehe. No safe havens left for the terrorists.

There was a report a month or 2 ago about a crew of them who tried to move a mortar into a neighborhood to attack green zone. They stored the mortar in engine compartment.
They set it up but when they tried to drop in a round, boom! 2 killed. 3rd injured. He tried to hide but people came out and started beating the hell out of him. he finally fled to Americans to save his life. :)
