STONINGTON, Conn. -- A man who was pronounced dead by an ambulance crew after being struck by lightning in May intends to sue the town and crew members.
Kevin Crandall, a blues musician, was building a stone wall behind a house when he was hit by lightning on May 31.
Witnesses and police said emergency medical technicians indicated Crandall was dead and covered him with a blanket. But 10 minutes later, a police officer noticed he was breathing.
Crandall was rushed to the hospital, where he was placed on life support. He was released a few weeks later.
His attorney, Stephen Reck, told The Day of New London that Crandall suffered brain damage and still has neurological problems that prevent him from playing music.
Reck has filed a notice that he intends to sue the town of North Stonington and four members of the Stonington Ambulance Corps on Crandall's behalf.

Bottom line - Kevin wants money.
They took him to the hospital and put him on life support and he wants to sue them?? Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot, over?
News Flash......Man struck by lighting lives, says he will sue. Film at 11.
He should be happy to be alive, but yet he chooses to do this. Some people.
He may have a case.
I've read that you stand a greater chance of being hit by lightning than winning the lottery. Crandall thinks he can do both.
He's gotta sue somebody and he can't sue God.

What? Did they take his Democrat-registered voting card away from him?
Yep, he should be hugging his stone wall, thanking GOD he is still alive... GOD must still have plans for this moran that he hasn't finished yet.... shame.
Fitting it into his busy music schedule.
He has no damages (i.e. he lived despite their incompetence)therefore he has no case.

Is this what blues musicians mean when they refer to "payin their dues?"
Exactly! It's not like they hooked up a defribulator to him or anything. They draped a blanket over him! His SSN wasn't invalidated, his obituary wasn't posted in the paper, and he wasn't left to claw his way to the Jefferson Memorial (hear about that one?).
A family member in a nursing facility was assumed dead by a nurse. We were all called, only to receive another phone call 45 minutes later (after family members had arrived on the scene to find her breathing).
The nurse used the crack method of picking up Grandma's arm and dropping it onto the bed to determine that she had gone. Really interesting to call up the relatives to deliver the bad news, only to call back 45 minutes later to say..."uh nevermind."
well now he has something to be blue about.
That's a tough one...
On one hand, I don't favor suing people who are making a good faith effort to do their jobs, but if they actually PRONOUNCED A GUY DEAD who wasn't dead, it seems to me they might actually have been negligent.
Hm, I guess I'd need to know more about this one.
He said, "well as a matter of fact, we had one just last month."
They called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He lived another week before dying for good.
