Thank you for your thoughtful example...a path at some point I may need to walk with my daughter. I was discussing the "truck" last night with my husband and we were sadly thinking that when age appropriate that showing her a similar photograph (incorporated into our eventual "coming of age" talk) might be something we'd choose. I think perhaps, leading your children by example (with individuals ready to help block them from harm) not only educates them about the subject matter, it also teaches them to take a personal stand in difficult situations. May the Lord continue to bless your efforts.

I am about as pro-life as one can get. It was the pro-life cause the woke me up to the leftist lies I had believed for years and which turned me from liberal to die-hard conservative. I support nearly all legal means to end the abortion holocaust. Check my posting history that goes back to the beginnings of Free Republic and you will see that I am unrestrained when it comes to advocating for the protection of the lives of the unborn and the condemnation of those who would kill or enable the killing of those innocent children.

That being said, I wish to first quote the words of the Lord as quoted in Matthew 18:

6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

7 Woe unto the world because of offences for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

How many children of pro-life parents, or just innocent children in general, have you offended in their innocence by the display you are using? When my children are old enough, I tell them about the evils of abortion. I don't need them to come across it in such a repulsive manner on the freeway or in a parking lot. I am protecting their innocence as long as I can.

Believe it or not, I've defended such displays at locations like abortion mills, etc. But the unrestrained display, such as yours, is not helpful and, in fact, it offends. I am not afraid of such images as I've seen so many of them and used them, where effective and appropriate, in the past.

I don't support the questionable actions of the law enforcement officers as you describe them. However, I understand the unease the officers felt in trying to determine if there was something they could do about your display before it offended more innocent children.

Really. Think about this. Pray about it. I support your activism as I am a pro-life activist myself. I even support your method as long as it is used appropriately. I just don't support your use of the display when you're not targetting a specific abortion clinic, Planned Parenthood site, pro-abortion conference, or whatever. I also don't think that you want to be the man causing the offence to the innocent little ones as Christ cautioned against. Those millstones can be rather heavy.

"Y'got the cop's name?"

Yes, it's David Febbraio. Check out this article about Trooper Febbraio.

Here is the article concerning Trooper David Febbraio (the arresting Officer) that appeared in the Associated Press in Oct. of 2003:

State troopers arrested on harassment charges
"We have zero tolerance for any type of activity like this," Lt. Dale Hourigan,...

SOUTHBURY (AP) - Two state troopers were arrested Tuesday on charges they harassed a dispatcher in the Southbury barracks by signing her up for more than a dozen magazine subscriptions.

Troopers David Febbraio, 29, of Danbury, and Brian Stas, 30, of Waterbury, are charged with several counts of harassment.

"We have zero tolerance for any type of activity like this," Lt. Dale Hourigan, commander of Troop A in Southbury, told the Republican-American of Waterbury.

The troopers allegedly subscribed to 16 magazines, including Playboy, Men’s Fitness and Cosmogirl, using the 54-year-old dispatcher’s home address in New Milford. Some of the magazines, which were not paid for, were addressed
to "Gimpy."

The dispatcher is overweight and handicapped, the newspaper reported.

The two men denied subscribing to the magazines, according to court documents, but detectives showed them fingerprints lifted from the subscription cards that matched those in their personnel files.

"The state paid to have that done?" Febbraio allegedly responded.

Febbraio told investigators that it was a practical joke that got out of hand. He said he regretted the prank.

He was accused of eight counts of harassment. Stas is charged with four counts. If convicted, they face up to 90 days in jail on each count, and a $500 fine.

Both troopers are on paid administrative leave, working desk jobs at state police headquarters in Middletown, said Trooper Roger Beaupre, a state police spokesman.

They were released on a promise to appear Oct. 20 in Bantam Superior Court in Litchfield.

I think it’s perfectly appropriate for toddlers to see what “pro-choice” mothers are really advocating – and I suspect they’d be horrified. I also suspect they’d be really happy that their mommy wasn’t one of “them.”

From someone involved in the Pro-life movement from the get go:
1) I helped organize one of the first large Metro Right to life groups
2) I organized and participated in and was the media spokesman for NUMEROUS protests at abortion clinics
3) I have been a media spokesperson for rtl causes in numerous states
4) I have spoken on the phone with Joe Scheidler and studied under Francis Schaeffer (the guy who got the protestant church going on this issue in America)
I think I have SOME credentials in this area. I am not "squeamish" about calling it murder, and grisly murder at that. I also think free speech allows us to make complete asses and fools of ourselves......, and I think that driving down the highway with pics of butchered babies dripping blood is precisely that..... incredibly foolish.

We are not going to win this fight by rubbing their noses in it. There are wise ways to do this and hysterical idiotic ways to do this. If you choose the latter, don't be surprised when you get bad reactions to it.

I hope you take them to court and sue the pants off them. If not for the money then for the publicity. There is a tendency for people to try and hide from the awful reality of abortion.

Everyone needs to see these pictures and I mean everyone. Children are remarkable strong in the face of evil. They need to be told the truth when the topic comes up.

"and a little child shall lead them." from Isaiah
