we need them in the ME, they need us for $$$. But, they can't hang on forever, having us ask them to do what we would never do.

"U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice . . . urged on behalf of U.S. President Bush to enable the opening of crossings for Gazas Arabs."
Ole Open-Borders Bush.
I hope the Israelis tell him to shove it.
I also hope the American voters tell future presidential candidates not willing to secure our borders to shove it.

In your rush to sign up, perhaps you failed to use the spell-checker. Remember it is your friend.

She said that this was what had happened in northern Ireland and AngolaI am shocked at her using such inept and inapplicable parallels. The Pali situation has little in common with either Angola or N.Ireland. This is really sloppy thinking-- very discouraging to see this.
To: freedomson
Yes she does. She continues to bring nothing but shame to with her ridiculous delusional remarks.
Remember this one ?

Imagine 5 million people south of OUR U.S. border who were sworn to destroy us, and who had demonstrated the where-with-all, the hatred, and the experience to do it. Imagine the Foreign Minister of a third country that CLAIMS to be our friend telling us we should open our borders to this nation and NOT INSPECT them, etc (in the interest of "peace").
Imagine that the same Foreign Minister recently told our government that we should let the sympathizers of these thugs run for political office.
You would call such a Foreign Minister ANTI-AMERICAN - only as a start... Then you would have serious words about them.
Now put that shoe on and wear it a while. Then tell everyone again how great Dr. Rice is. Dr. Rice is the Neville Chamberlain of the Bush Adminstration. She is a joke on the W.O.T.

Bush is on an "open border" kick Never heard him completely explain how that concept works. I'd like to read more about it to understand his point of view, got any writeups?

The difference between the policies she advocated for the US with respect to terror, and for Israel with respect to terror, could not be more starkly different.
Which makes all our allies and our enemies smirk when we talk about the "global war on terror". They know what we really mean is the "global war against American interests" - which isn't a bad concept, but it has demolished our moral highground.

Rest assured, Israel can play the political game, but they will not surrender on this one. Dr. Rice only showed her immaturity and lack of historical reference to even suggest it publicly. In at least that regard, more Israelis are getting the idea that Dr. Rice is not only not their friend, she is the enemy. Maybe they will deny entry to her soon, LOL.

Yes, I agree, there is nothing that undermines the war on terror like our Israel policy.

If it was a Condi vs. Hillary race in 2008, I could have voted for Condi, even with her pro-abortion stance (I do't like it, but) as long as she is true on most other issues, but her Israel policy, well, kind of sucks lately. I don't think I could vote for Condi anymore either, she has dropped a couple cylinders, she ain't running on all eight anymore. B-P She is asking Israel to commit suicide. I used to admire for her brains but she seems to have "jumped the shark."

I too cheered for her as a replacement for Powell. It is finally dawning on me that the Saudi Foreign Ministry is still running the State Department. Dr. Rice appears to be a puppet. I don't vote for puppets for President.

I keep forgetting, but is the the same Condi that many FReepers are seriously touting as a POTUS candidate in '08?
Give me a break.

Liberal friends told me Kerry would be better for Israel than Bush. I hate to say it but they were 100% right
___I'm always stunned to see how these Middle East threads end up as Bush-bashing rallies!

(President) Bush is on an "open border" kick and no matter where on the planet he's stuck the idea...it's one of the stupidest ideas I've heard come from a politician. Sadly, I have to agree .. he's just not getting smarter in this department.

Well, why do you think that might be? Could it be that Bush's MidEast policy toward the Pali/Israeli conflict sucks? That he is an open borders globalist just like his old man, that his family are longtime friends of the Saudi regime, that they are Arabists, and that James Baker was not, and is not, a friend of Israel? And your "stunned"? Common sense should dictate otherwise.
