I often find it hard to believe Maureen Dowd has any sense, at any time, of any happiness at all. And, I don't say that because she is single. She just seems, in general, sour on everyone and everything, at all times. She's usually too depressing for me to read.

I think she should quit her job and stop writing for awhile. Take up a new hobby or just do something new; maybe try ____? I don't know. Whatever. She needs a change.

I think the reader's letters are better written and more insightful than anything this so-called columnist writes! Boy, do they have her pegged.

Perhaps she should shun the wardrobe that makes her a caricature of a cheap street walker. Who wants to drag home this broad wearing snagged fishnets and f**k me red high heels, and stinks of cheap Scotch.

One unhappy girl, that's for certain.

Even if men were "threatened" by intelligent, witty women, that wouldn't apply to her anyway.

I love smart women. Married one. And my good women friends are all smart. And especially smarter than Mo. Not that that is any great accomplishment.

She's got a great gig and if people are writing it means they're reading.

Well, maybe she's to stop calling herself a girl when she's on the backside of 50

Emphasis on 'backside'. As in horse's.

Annual reminder that the holidays are approaching which Mo will be spending with her conservative family. Lots of yucks in upcoming columns as Mo spins inexorably into holiday depression, unleashing her invective upon a cruel, uncaring world.

****Perhaps a hint of a smile? A bit of humor?****

Yes I was recently flipping around and I saw Maureen Dowd on CNN and I thought to myself, "Does this woman ever smile"? I mean Ann Coulter always smiles when she's on TV!

Long ago, I concluded that most of the left wingers out there engage in political theater and bombast not because they have some coherent philosophy but because they prefer attracting attention to themselves instead of getting therapy for whatever emotional problem they have. The ones who either aren't star material or willing to make fools of themselves just use their beliefs as a defense mechanism, one that enables them to act smug, particularly in academic environments where being smug is a virtue that is prized above everything else, including having an intellect. Still others feel insecure unless they adopt the loony ideology that their sick friends have.

I think she is a wee bit nuts, myself. I saw her on Letterman one night and I was emmbarassed for her. It was nothing particular that she said, just her strange behaviour.

Will someone please marry Maureen? Using her bully pulpit at The Times, she has managed to spin her inability to find a suitable mate into a national crisis.

"I often find it hard to believe Maureen Dowd has any sense, at any time, of any happiness at all."

Gotta disagree. I think she takes great perverse pleasure in her bitterness. I imagine her giggling to herself as she ponders life's hatred of her, scribbles her tripe and guzzles her gin.

I know why she's gone unmarried, it's obvious to all: she's a sour, whiny, pouty, babbling, yes bitchy, and caustic POS that any man with sense would run away from the moment he sees her coming. She may claim a certain "intelligence" (though that's easily disputed in light of her numerous atrocious columns), but she certainly does not seem like a woman that any sane man would want to make a life with....... just ask Michael Douglas how much better it is to see Catherine Zeta-Jones in the mornings!!
