A convenience store on the northwest side of Ames and a home in Stratford were reported damaged.

Officials reported that fans at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames waiting for Iowa State's football game against Colorado were moved into Hilton Coliseum as the storm moved in.

Ames police dispatcher Pam Litchfield says there were reports of damage in the northwest part of the city, including a building that had been blown apart. She didn't know if it was a house or outbuilding.
