Yep, it doesn't get any better than that.
I had a friend in high school who loved 2 things, basketball and Clemson. He was tall but not very coordinated. He went to Clemson and was a big fan and supporter of their basketball team. A local car dealer in the Clemson area (Anderson, SC) had a contest at a Clemson home game and my friend's name was drawn. He got to take one shot at halftime from center court. He made the shot and won a new car. This was way back in the 70s and I think the car was a Chevette.
I just got back from the game. It was amazing! Good for him. Even more deserving because of his service.
Oh, GO TIGERS!!!!
Gosh, what a car to win--especially if he was tall. I bet he barely fit in it.
With UGA losing tonight USC will be pulling for Kentucky next Saturday.
Can you imagine, USC playing LSU for the SEC championship?
Way to go Combat!
I decided today that I hate football.......... ;^(
Good story and a great game as the Tigers beat Diddy Bowden like a rented mule!
A friend of my wife's won a million dollars several years ago...some sort of church raffle, I believe, at 100 bucks a pop.
It was a twenty year payout, with some withholding and IIRC it came to $40,000 a year.
It ruined her - distant relatives all began appearing, and one she didn't even know insisted she pay for his needed heart transplant...she ended up selling her pizza business since it had become the rallying point for all the potentail leeches (Red's in St. Paul, Minnesota) and settled in as a grocery clerk.
What she did NOT let anyone know was that she owned the whole damn block, and made a killing when she sold out.
Couple of years ago I went to the Clemson-UVA homecoming game. They had another million-dollar contest - you punt the ball from the closest 40 yard line. The ball has to land in the bed of a truck parked in the endzone and stay in the bed.
Ridiculously impossible.
Note to Gator AD Jeremy Foley: The next time you get a chance to hire a coach who led you to six SEC titles and a national championship, I suggest you hire him.
Actually that guy was a South Carolina fan, for the record. They asked him if he was a Clemson fan on the broadcast and he said, "No, I'm a South Carolina fan".
Priceless!! Go Cocks, beat the cats!!
I grew up in SC, I have brother in law that coaches in SC, he went to and played at USC, my nephew and niece go to USC. I live in GA now, so I am always torn between UGA and USC.
I am not a fanatic for any team except the Braves, that is why I am wishy washy between the two teams.
I am a UGA fan first, USC fan second and a SEC fan overall, except when I am a Texas Tech fan. :^)
Do I make sense yet?
Aren't you nice - thanks........
bttt
Now here's one lottery winner I'm very glad to hear about. This po' boy deserves the big bucks.
Do you think the New York Jets will want to sign him up?
