Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire?
Fox News ^ | 11/10/05 | Brit Hume

Now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:

Former CIA officer and one time FOX contributor Larry Johnson is calling retired general and FOX military analyst Paul Vallely a "right wing [hack] making up facts,” after Vallely said former Ambassador Joseph Wilson told him his wife worked at the CIA as both waited to appear on FOX programs.

This as liberal Websites say they have proof Vallely is lying, saying research service LexisNexis shows Vallely and Wilson never appeared on FOX on the same day. But in fact, Vallely and Wilson appeared on the same day nine times in 2002, and on the same show twice — on September 8 and September 12, when both men appeared within 15 minutes of one another.

Was it stipulated that it was a Fox "green room" when the meetings took place?
I am probably wrong but I didn`t think it was specific to which network although that may have been made clear and I missed it.

Larry C. Johnson, "The Declining Terrorist Threat," New York Times, July 10, 2001. Johnson, a former CIA officer, was deputy director of the U.S. State Department's Office of Counterterrorism from 1989 to 1993.

"Judging from news reports and the portrayal of villains in our popular entertainment, Americans are bedeviled by fantasies about terrorism. They seem to believe that terrorism is the greatest threat to the United States and that it is becoming more widespread and lethal. They are likely to think that the United States is the most popular target of terrorists. And they almost certainly have the impression that extremist Islamic groups cause most terrorism.

"None of these beliefs are based in fact. ... While terrorism is not vanquished, in a world where thousands of nuclear warheads are still aimed across the continents, terrorism is not the biggest security challenge confronting the United States, and it should not be portrayed that way."

you may know, ex CIA agent and lefty stooge Larry C. Johnson is everywhere accusing the White House of leaking Valerie Plame's identity and blowing her CIA covert cover.
Johnson, along with a cadre of other leftwing hacks, has written a letter to Congress demanding this be investigated and that all Republicans be summarily punished.
Previously Johnson was best known for his constant downplaying of the terrorist thread--most famously in a New York Times editorial posted here:

Flashback: "Intelligence Analyst" Larry C. Johnson: "The Declining Terrorist Threat (July 10, 2001)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1447248/posts

So what does Johnson see as a real threat? Why BIG TOBACCO, of course:

Did someone mention pants? It seems to me that the Democrats are the ones who have problems with their pants.

Incredible. One has only to see Vallely speak for about 5 minutes to realize that he is completely credible and totally unflappable. He's hard core, no non-sense retired military with no axe to grind with anyone.

Another important thing to note is that he has absolutely nothing to gain by getting involved in this mess. Most men would simply have shrugged it off, but he saw that the truth was being too badly distorted to be ignored, so he's been forced to jump in and say something.

As Vallely told John Gibson (in for Tony Snow) on the radio this morning, Joe Yellowcake won't sue, he doesn't want to testify under oath.

The good general does NOT seem worried. More like amused.

Vallely and McInerny are so friggin' cool. Either one of them could smash Joey's larnyx without spilling even a drop of their Jamesons. LOL
