Study: Twice as Much Sex on TV

Television these days is loaded with sex, sex, sex - double the number of sex scenes aired seven years ago, says a study out Wednesday. And the number of shows that include "safer sex" messages has leveled off, it said.

There were nearly 3,800 scenes with sexual content spotted in more than 1,100 shows researchers studied, up from about 1,900 such scenes in 1998, the first year of the Kaiser Family Foundation survey.

Vicky Rideout, a vice president at Kaiser, says the number of shows that included a message about the risks and responsibilities of sex is still very small, and has remained flat since 2002.

Tried it once and threw my back out.

I've got a big screen now, though...

Prime time comedy is very flippant about sex. If people carried on the same conversations that they hear on TV at work they would find themselves out on the pavement in no time

I agree. Political correctness limited a lot of the humor, so they had to go into raunchiness for laughs.

That could be dangerous. Your only inches away from a hight frequency 10,000 volt power supply. Just think of the radiation.

No sex on my TV...the cats sleep up there.

LOL! Reminds me of that old (embroidered-on-a-pillow) sayings:
"If you want the most comfortable spot in the house, you'll have to move the cats."

Our cats are both female, which, if they were cheerleaders, wouldn't stop them. But, they've both been under the knife, so it's a warmth thing.

What great news!  A positive trend for those of us who mainly just watch Food Network...

And FOX News

Any word if this sex involves viewers?  Specifically middle aged doughy guys?

And, since I've taken the TV out of my living space and put it into the garage, only to be brought in on Friday nights for the kids to watch a video, this means....... I don't give a rip.

I, like many people in the U.S., have chosen to begin unilateral w/drawal from the popular culture. Church Schools, No TV, limited access for the kids to magazines.

Twice as Much Sex on TV

This is probably due to the number of big screen TVs sold. You can really hurt yourself trying to have sex on a smaller set.

If Juliet Huddy happens across the PICTURE OF ME (!) contact me and I'll FReepmail you directions to my bedroom.  Just don't turn on the light and remember what's pleasing to the touch might not necessarily be pleasing to the eye.

Hmmm... with the lights off, who could tell?  I don't want to sound like a weirdo, but I've gotta think she hasn't, uh "been touched" in quite some time.  She could be really into it.
