They ran out of things to call terrorists so they came up with 'pirate' to cause viewers to hark back to the swashbuckling age of piracy on the high seas. How picturesque. The MSM never ceases to test the credulity of the kool aid drinkers who STILL tune in

I don't see anything wrong with referring to them as pirates. I think most people understand that pirates are terrorists in the water.
