Chirac(2001: One hundred thousand people don't get upset unless there is a problem in their hearts

GENOA, Italy (7/21/2001)-- Club-wielding riot police and violent protesters clashed yesterday with deadly consequences as leaders of the world's seven wealthiest nations said they would fight AIDS and global economic problems. Safe inside their summit site, European leaders also worked to thwart President Bush's environmental policies.

Bush told aides the protester's death was tragic. Earlier, he questioned the protest's motives.

In a joint statement, the leaders expressed regret for the death and condemned the violence, urging peaceful protesters to isolate lawbreakers by example.

Anti-globalization protesters flooded this hilly, Mediterranean port city -- with many of them turning violent. An unknown number hurled cobblestones and Molotov cocktails, smashed windows, set fires to cars and trash bins and looted storefronts.

Italy's interior minister, Claudio Scajola, issued a terse statement confirming that the shooting victim, Carlo Giuliani, 23, a Roman who lived in Genoa, was hit by a shot fired "in self-defense by one of the police."

According to Dylan Martinez, a Reuters photographer who witnessed the incident and captured the scene on film, the victim was one of several young men who had surrounded a police van and were smashing it with rocks, metal rods and other weapons. He said the man was shot by a police officer and then his body was run over by the vehicle.

French President Jacques Chirac, who faces a socialist challenger in next year's election, was the only leader to express sympathy for protesters. "One hundred thousand people don't get upset unless there is a problem in their hearts and spirits," he said.

Inside the 13th-century palace-turned-conference center, Chirac led opposition to Bush's climate-change policies.

Later, Chirac and Bush were seen in animated conversation during a summit dinner that also included leaders from five poor countries.

The West is politically correcting itself to death... literally.

Let's wake up and realized we're not fighting a couple of bad seeds in an otherwise peaceful culture. We're at war with the very nature of Islam. And we better wise up before it's too late.

Police are not the answer.

Chirac wants to send in Maurice Chavlier.

PETA should get involved because these " protesters" are nothing more than animals. They do not act like humans and they do not act like they know what civilization is about.

They are animals.

The "problem in their hearts" is that they leach off of France, not "Francistan".

...said they would fight AIDS...

What about cancer? I wasn't aware that cancer poses no health threat anymore.

Chirac(2001: One hundred thousand people don't get upset unless there is a problem in their hearts

They're upset that they are a round peg in a square hole. They force themselves into a society with a different language, customs and people of different appearance and then get pissed off that they stick out like a sore thumb and people notice them for their differences. Bunch of maroons ;-)

Memo to "Safe inside their summit" site Chirac:
Your country is being torched by these sorts. The problem isn't within their hearts and spirits. Their problem lies in the fact that they are still alive. Perhaps rather than worryinjg about Bush's environmental policies you might consider concentrating your efforts on regaining control of the streets of Paris. Unfortunately the only way you can deal with their hearts and spirits is to destroy both. By the way, your help for the environment will prove more harmful to humanity than anything GW can do.

It's very easy to fight aids. it can be stopped in it's tracks if people would follow a few simple rules. The cure is out there and it's free.
The USA gives more than any other country for aids in Africa, I say we do more than enough for Africa with food medicine, and economic aid. Why doesn't the rest of Europe? The problem in Africa is corrupt tyrants and Islam, and Koffee Anan and his gang of crooks.

Lets see now Jacques, What do all 100,000 have in common? Ah yes, they're all moslems! I think I've found your problem.

Is this idiot so stupid that he can not hear what islam is telling him each and every day?
islam says that they will take your country and install islamic law.
islam says it will kill all non-muslims.
Seems to me that they are getting a foothold in France while the French government stands on the sidelines and watches the fires burn.
Now that islam has found out that they can get away with this, just think what they will do next time.

Sounds alot like when blacks burnt LA because they said they were oppressed. Message to blacks was that it was ok because America is inherintly racist and blacks cant be held accountable to their actions.
