it's the old generation that gives me the creeps sometimes. some days ago, when i rode on the local subway, there were three young turks with their feet on the seats talking too loud. some old woman told them to take their feet on the ground as other people wanted to sit there. one of the youths told her that they took no orders from germans and that there would soon be over 5 million muslims in germany so she should watch her mouth. the woman responded that well, there had been over 5 million jews in germany, some time ago.
after that, there was an uneasy silence.
at the moment i think muslim riots in germany are not probable.

yeah, kreuzberg is the main turk borough of berlin (1/3 turkish heritage, about 50.000).
but kreuzberg isnt quite the social hotspot. big cities have their own ways of integration and most berliners (as new yorkers or londoners) take much pride in being born in this city. most berlin turks would rather see themselves as berliners first as far as i know.
i think suburbs, especially poor suburbs as in france, are the main places where a failed integration leads to the results we see on TV just now.
