ALARM - 11th night of violences: 839 set fire to vehicles, 186 interpellations
PARIS - At least 839 burnt vehicles and 186 interpellations were recorded with 04H00 (03H00 GMT) in France for the night of Sunday to Monday according to a provisional assessment of the general direction of the French police force.

Apparently, this means that there were 186 riots, acts of arson, violence or what have you, that were broken up by police.
It's hard to believe. Where are all the ordinary people during all of this or is pretty much everyone in these Soviet-style towns brawling?

A quick google search turned up this on interpellation. I'm guessing they are refering to an arrest, but it's interesting in that it shows how Marxism pervades French thought.

I can't understand why they don't go for mass transit other then they seem to be trying to avoid killing anyone.
