"The Founders"?

Birthright citizenship became part of the Constitution in the 1860s, not the 1780s.

Building the wall and intercepting those who cross is doable by executive act. No law is needed. Indeed, the border states could do it, with federal military and financial assistance.

Ending birthright citizenship would require a Constitutional amendment, and is a bad idea.

Close the border and regularize everyone on the US side of it. There will not continue to be an influx after that, and you will not need to worry about the birthright business.

I stand corrected. Although I knew it was the 14th amendment, I just wasn't thinking.

At least I got my mistake for the day out of the way early! - LOL!

Cordially,

I like doing both. We should build the wall and end anchor babydom. We should select who gets our citizenship based on who benefits us the most.

We should take the next Einstein and if possible, screen for and reject the next Tony Montana. We are under no ethical obligation to make US citizenship easily obtainable for the foreign born.
