Why Paris Is Burning
New York Post Online ^ | November 4, 2005 | AMIR TAHERI

Posted on 11/04/2005 1:46:27 AM PST by GiovannaNicoletta

AS THE night falls, the "troubles" start — and the pattern is always the same.

Bands of youths in balaclavas start by setting fire to parked cars, break shop windows with baseball bats, wreck public telephones and ransack cinemas, libraries and schools. When the police arrive on the scene, the rioters attack them with stones, knives and baseball bats.

That illusion has now been shattered — and the Chirac administration, already passing through a deepening political crisis, appears to be clueless about how to cope with what the Parisian daily France Soir has called a "ticking time bomb."

Fools. The French should consider themselves fortunate to have only riots and not planes flying into buildings.

If and when this ends, I can't wait to see if we still get treated to the famous French smug superiority we've had to put up with since 911. They're clueless about what to do about rioting religious fanatics and they're going to tell us not to fight a war against these people?

Somebody should write a conspiracy theory book under the pen-name "Terry Mason" about how the French actually instigated the riots so they would have an excuse to hammer their minority (note the lack of plural).

The Post requires registering. Want to give a clue or two about the rest of the article? Just a hint or so?

The world's nations are being taught a simple lesson. Fewer muslims=fewer problems. Steps can be taken on a national level.

Sorry- the New York Post has to be excerpted- you can't post the entire article.

Anyway, the article basically gives the genesis of the rioting: some kids were in the process of stealing parts of cars, somebody called the ineffective French police, who usually never go into this section of town, to report the crime, the cops show up, the kids take off, two of them hide in an area that housed a power pylon and was cordoned off, and were electrocuted.

After that, bands of Muslim youths took to the streets, shouting "God is great", and demanding that the French police leave the area.

The article then goes on to narrate how the French have never required that the Muslims who immigrate to France assimilate, and now, with unassimilated Muslims demanding to be allowed to set up their own religious "justice systems" combined with the weakness of the French government, the country of France now finds itself with a huge problem with no apparent way out.

Which brings me to the conclusion that those who live in glass houses.....these are the people who screamed the loudest against the war on terror, and now they find themselves nearly overrun by the enemy.

Conclusion? Just deserts for some sanctimonious hypocrites.

The Mujahedeen (who else wears balaclava's while committing terrorist acts?) now know that the French police are powerless against them.
They should have crushed this uprising on the first day. It's too late now, it will only grow into a better organized and deadly "insurgency" of Islamic 'freedom-fighters'. (They coined the names, now let them live with them) Iran and al queda will keep them supplied. France won't "hammer" their Islamic minority, they will be defeated by them. They've already begun destroying all the businesses, the infrastructure, schools, libraries, police stations. Economic collapse has already begun in an already tetering economy and will keep spreading along with the "insurgency". (let's see how France likes that word)

The Muslims are not assimilating.

They have taken over certain areas, chasing out the native French, and want French authorities to stay out.

By the way, I use bugmenot.com. It hasn't failed yet.

I agree, it's too late now. As you said, they are taking out the schools and police stations. Time is on their side from this point on..

At this point, I'd say that the Muslims were leaning toward beheading.

After all, it appears as though they are winning.

When Chirac comes to us on his knees, we can send over Cindy Sheehan to fix the problem.

At this time I would like to offer to assist our resident politicians here in Seattle, those who have spoken out on these kinds of issues, to make a journey to Paris.

It seems clear to me that there are simply not enough daycares in Paris for the poor.

Be sure to also send Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Moore, Dan Rather, et al. France can yet be saved!

Viva la liberté! Viva la France!

Sheehan will empower them, give a 'speech' telling how oppressed they were. She'll encourage them to kill all the Jews as well.
Hopefully the Jewish population is getting out as fast as they can. I heard some mention of that on the news but I didn't catch it all. If indeed that is happening, that will translate into even more business closings, and further economic decline. I think this really can lead up to something very serious. One thing is for sure, France will never be France again. They threw away their own cultural heritage like fools, and weakened themselves with excessive socialist policies.

Thank you very much for the synopsis. Interesting about the Mohammedan shouts, demands for religious (quote unquote) justice system - these were not mentioned in any of the other articles I've read. Most of what I've read made it sound as though any Mohammendanism was just happenstance.

Including the Dalrymple article - Barbarians at the gates. Of course, it was written a couple of years ago, but gave a lot of highly interesting background.

LOL- exactly!

This is the perfect opportunity for the leftists to prove once and for all, despite the record established by the leftist god, Bill Clinton, that all-out, no-holes-barred, shameless butt-kissing of Islamist terrorists is the way to stop terrorism.

This is their rare chance to prove us utterly wrong- that the fact that we haven't been hit by terrorists since 911 is just an illusion-killing the scum hasn't saved us at all- and as a matter of fact, 911 was staged by George Bush to justify an illegal war.

This is their chance. Get Cindy, Howard, Ted, Harry, Nancy, Michael, Dan and all the rest on the next plane to Paris. We can bring the troops home now!
