I think the point is, that the Dems are putting an 'ethnicity' label (Italian) to his nomination, when it shouldn't be anything else other than 'American'.

And even that would be implied.

I thought Scalito was a combination of Scalia and Alito, a comment on his similar judicial philosphy or temperment. If that's true, I think the nickname is the highest compliment.

Seems it more than just the "Scalito" comments that are circulating with the Rats....and I wouldn't doubt that the Italian American community doesn't like that too much, either.
