Arlen Spector wouldn't know a compromise from his behind. This is an opportunity to be forthright about conservatism. I recommend Debbie Schlussel for the court. She's a great pick and she can run rings around the Democratic Senators. If the President wants to make a bold move, I want him to pick her for the Court.

Probably true, but him being head of the Judiciary committee is reality.

Ir the goal is to have the PResident make a "bold move", or make a "statement", he can certainly do that with certain picks. Those might not be people who get confirmed, but at least he'll have made a statement.
