It's Time For Republicans Finally To Fight Back
The Caucus for America ^ | 10/25/2005 | Rabbi Aryeh Spero

Posted on 10/25/2005 2:53:18 PM PDT by dvan

Having reportedly agreed to a movie project for his account of pursuing Delay, as well as using his office to threaten indictments against corporations unwilling to donate to Earle's pet liberal causes, it is the D.A. who appears guilty of betraying his public office for personal agendas.

More Republicans should follow Delay's example of going after partisan liberal officials who abuse their powers to criminalize in Court conservative office-holders who advocate conservative policies.

No doubt, the goal of the highly vocal Democrat Texas D.A. is to humiliate Delay nationally and strip him of his powers not through the ballot box but by using the Courts. Surely Earle knows that so many of the campaign finance laws are fuzzy, arcane, open to interpretation, and have not even been tested. On many of the articles, there is no consensus on what constitutes an infraction, a violation. But Earle's purpose appears not to uphold the law, but rather to bring down a major conservative voice -- a decade's-old political foe.

Sources in Congress tell me that prominent Democrats in the House have routinely done what Delay did -- in fact, with greater shenanigans. They have gotten away with it for, unlike Democrats, Republicans rarely use the "scandal and Courts" tactic to catch liberal opponents. It's high time they played hardball!

Liberals are concocting any charge they can to bring down Delay, Rove, Cheney, Court nominees -- even the President. They do so by inventing new "charges" never before heard of or by charging Republican officials with indiscretions Democrats themselves brazenly commit . They don't fear being labeled hypocrites since they know their friends in the Press will never inform the American public of the violations that constitute their double standard.

Up until Delay, Republicans have folded and not stood by their own. They didn't stand by Newt, Livingston, and many ran from Reagan during Iran-Contra. Acting scared, they exhibited the attitude “If I keep quiet, maybe they won't come after me." The Democrats smell the fear -- the weakness. Thus, they continue to try to snipe Republicans one-by-one.

The best Defense is strong Offense. Perhaps if Republicans began pursuing Democrats, Democrats would be more occupied with their defense attorneys and, thus, have less leisure time to scheme against hapless Republicans. Until now, there has been no downside to the Democrat Offensive. Democrats are secure knowing that Republicans will not turn the table on them, will not call the kettle black.

Tom Delay has finally shown them:

There is a Downside. Come after us and we'll come after you.

Hey, guys, we out here never run from a fight. We take on liberals all day, everywhere. In the streets, town halls, churches and synagogues, at shopping centers and around the table at Thanksgiving and Hanukah family gatherings. If we can do it, we expect you to do it. And we don't even get paid -- you do.

Look to Congressman Delay. He seems to have the guts we wish the Republican leadership had.

Republicans are wusses when it comes to a fight. It'll never happen.

We hear absolutely zippo about Kerry "outing" an actual CIA operative on the floor of the Senate a few months ago -- but, the broad presumption is that some senior level Republican should go to jail for "outing" a CIA desk jockey. It's typical of Republican wusses "taking the high road" and losing.

The Democrats know that with the aid and overt complicity of the MSM, any triviality can be whipped into a scandal, and any scandal can be trivialized.

Its long past time to fight, but they wont. Rino's and cowards that want to do nothing but appease the democRATs and the media. It is a nice fantasy though.

As Henry Kissenger once observed, Democrats are guilty of the crimes which they accuse Republicans of committing. I fervently hope that the Pubbies follow the lead of Mr. Delay.

Regardless of whether it's covered by the media, a complaint filed with the Texas state bar association against Ronnie Earle is a start. A special prosecuter appointed to investigate how Sen. Schumer's office came to possess the credit report of Michael Steele would send a strong message.

It's past time to adopt the Mafia approach--You take down one of ours, we take down two of yours.

Is there any way to look at the records of the Democrats from this time frame to show they did exactly the same as Delay is accused of doing. Surely someone must know how to do this search?

I agree!! It's been a well coordinated attack by the dems on the GOP leaders. We need to indict every single democrat in the Senate and the House. I'm sure one can find something to send each one of them to jail or back home!!. It's time to stop being civil to both the democrats and the G.D. muslims. This is war..and they started it. Time to open a big ole can of whoop ass!!!

Hey, we've only been waiting for this to happen for five and a half years. We all know the GOP should start acting like winners and beat back some of this stuff. Why have the leadership of the GOP waited until now?

Bipartisanship?
Johnson-Lite?
