I hate to say it but they are right. If Rove or anyone lied to the grand jury, they should be held accountable. Anyone with an ounce of intellectual honesty will admit that.

I agree. If they lied that is one thing. If a date is wrong or the time of day changes that is another issue.
That is what I think is going on here.
The main issue is this: Was Valerie Plame a covert agent?
If yes, we have an issue. If no, then there is no crime.
Am I correct or am I being too simplistic?

Yes, but there is a huge difference between a deliberate lie, such as "I didn't have sex with that woman". And some minor misstatement in the course of 16 hours of testimony. As a prosecutor, I can tell you that you expect minor inconsistencies and problems with recall when someone is telling the truth. It actually makes your witness more believable in some cases.

If any indictment is based on a true cover up, I would be the first to hang the offenders out to dry. But if this is a case of indicting someone because he believed that he heard X from Tim Russert and Tim Russert says he didn't say X, or some similar nonsense, I will be disappointed in the legal system.

A prosecutor with an agenda is a very dangerous thing.

Well, it would be a stenuous task to keep track of who is not included in that description.

And they will have a trial to prove their innocence or not

Clinton had a trial and his side presented their case .. he was found guilty and impeached

In fact a Judge took Clinton's law license away for his perjury

What the Dems are doing is saying that Rove is guilty before the benefit of a trial and to present his case

Kind of like what they are doing to Delay

If indictments DO come, then the torches and pitchforks will head directly for the White House and demand the head of Bush.

If indictments DON'T come, then the torches and pitchforks will claim the Bush admin is so corrupt that they won't indict themselves.

End result: a lot of ridiculous torches and pitchforks camped outside the WH, with Cindy Sheehan tying herself to the fence laughing, and the 2008 wannabes gluing themselves to TV cameras to denounce the 'culture of corruption' that dared to allow either 1.-indictments or 2.-no indictments in this massive, massive scandal that resulted in everyone in America except Valerie Plame's neighbors (who already knew she worked for CIA) and the rest of DC (who already knew she worked for CIA) knowing the identity of a double-naught spy and her despicable partisan husband.

"If Rove or anyone lied to the grand jury, they should be held accountable. Anyone with an ounce of intellectual honesty will admit that."

What is increasingly clear is that Wilson has lied more, to more audiences, about more things, than anyone involved in this idiotic fraud of a "case". Did Wilson say the same things he said in public, under oath...either in testimony or deposition? If so, he clearly has perjured himself with unethical and illegal intent. Yet due to the political blinders that the leftist press tries to put on us, only Rove or Libby seem to be capable of perjury. Anyone with an ounce of intellectual honesty will admit that.
