Many of Bush's problems are caused by left-wing propaganda, and can be resolved in the same way that he has successfully defused these lying attacks before.

The Miers nomination is a whole other kettle of fish. In this case, he has done it to himself, and then has tried to resolve his own mistake by attacking his supporters.

Not only that, but he has succeeded in exacerbating all the other questions. Many of us were willing to say, "Well, we'll excuse the excessive spending, or the failure to deal with the borders, or the failure to veto McCain's Campaign Reform Atrocity, or (fill in the blank), if Bush feels that those compromises are necessary in order to get the voter support to do his main job.

But the SCOTUS appointments ARE the main job.

Did we swallow all those other compromises in order to get Harriet Miers onto the Supreme Court? I don't think so.

As long as the Miers mess continues, it will keep roiling the waters and recall all those other dubious decisions. End it quickly, then put a really good judge on the court, using every arm-twisting technique necessary on the Dems and RINOs, and that will put an end to many of the other complaints.

There's no other way to do it.

The so-called conservatives are going to make it almost too easy for Dubya to wrap his arms a McCain/Guiliani 2008 ticket.
