John Cloud, a gay man who wrote the cover story for Time magazine (Oct. 10) on the rise of gay teen advocacy groups on high school campuses, has a long history of promoting the gay political agenda while disguised as a mainstream reporter. Cloud's sexual orientation was not mentioned in the Time article.
In past Time articles, Cloud has promoted gay attacks against the Boy Scouts, portrayed transgender activists as a new opprosed minority group; wrote approvingly of anonymous gay sex orgies for an alternative newspaper in Washington, DC; and earlier had penned a guide to gay bathhouses in Washington, DC.
Dr. Richard Fitzgibbons, A NARTH Scientific Advisory Committe member wrote a letter to Time Magazine to dispute Cloud's claims about the rate of suicide and mental illness among gay teens, Fitzgibbons wrote:
The Time writer of the gay teen article and the president of the APA have done a serious disservice to teens, their parents and educators by ignoring the well designed reasearch studies on suicide and mental illness in those with same sex attractions.
Two well designed major studies of young people with same sex attractions published in the Archives of General Psychiatry revealed they were over 6 times as likely to have attempted suicide, 4 times as likely as their perrs to suffer major depression, almost three times as likely to suffer generalized anxiety disorder, nearly 4 times as likely to experience conduct disorder, 5 times as likely to have nicotine dependence, 6 times as likley to suffer multiple disorders.
Teenagers have the right to know the truth and should be given informed consent by doctors, school psychologists and counselors, educators and parents as to the serious emotional, mental and physical illnesses associated with the homosexual lifestyle.

Those who say that some of these people are not advocating making kids gay are fooling themselves. Gay chic is very fashionable in some schools and these cretins would love to have more converts.

Gay chic may be fashionable in some schools, but from what I see in the high schools Gay means Loser. Big time.
The kids use "gay" as an insult. The kids involved in the "gay rights" groups in the schools are the misfits and messes. Everyone in the school knows it and knows that they can use "gay" to bully others.

Everyone in the school knows it and knows that the misfits can use "gay" issues to bully others and make demands. So regular kids steer clear.
The bloodiest, craziest murders in the Bay Area are committed by pissed-off,jilted gay guys. That the victim's MEMBER gets cut off (in addition to a lot of other bad, unmentionable things) is a given.
The newspapers NEVER talk about it.

Time ceased to be a news magazine long ago. Now it tries to influence kids in high schools, which is the only place it is still afforded respect.
Hence, a spate of covers on "being 13", "Kenya West", and "gay teens".
Unfortunately, some teens reading Time may think they are
getting a grown-up, informed look at the world; when all they are doing is being misinformed.

Agreed that Time is birdcage liner. But I was refering to the SF paper that ignores the details of local homosexual murders.
John Cloud. Cloud is a gay man -- a very liberal and dangerously promiscuous one, if a graphic article he once wrote about visiting an anonymous gay sex club is any indication. Indeed, Cloud's older piece subverts a main point of his Time dissertation - i.e., that the notion of gay men as promiscuous and reckless is a dangerous stereotype.
Again -- and here is where I may get in trouble with my fellow religious conservatives -- I don't care that in 1997 Cloud -- who at the time had a boyfriend -- visited a house in Washington, D.C., and paid $8 to watch men having group sex and watch gay porno.

Cloud doesn't admit the bias, and his disdain for those who disagree is not well hidden.
Bias runs through the Time piece, and its germ is found in the gay bathhouse story he wrote in 1997. The latter appeared in the Washington City Paper, a tiresome hispter weekly published in DC. In "The Naked City," Cloud ventures to a house in the Adams Morgan section of the city and, after paying $8, is admitted into the house. Cloud's intention was clear: "I had always assumed (and, admittedly, hoped), that while one of the activities might well be massage, other activities were even more...well, hands on. I got a couple of friends to admit that they had attended, and one of them described the parties this way: 'It's sort of like a bathhouse without the baths."
Indeed. There's no need to go into the details of what Cloud saw, which is sickening. Some of it was hard even for Cloud himself to take -- well, kind of. "Feeling equal measures of pity, disgust, and horniness," he writes after seeing something out of latter-day Rome, "I skulk back into the hallway and then into the 'smoking room.'" Cloud gets "groped here and there" before escaping Hell House, but not before making this observation: "Though I'm not sure, I imagine most of the guests to be closeted, and a fair number married. With their conservative styling [!], I can also imagine most of them in K street law firms or federal office buildings or Northern Virginia computer companies. Strangely, I can't imagine them at a sex party, even as I watch them have orgasms."
Cloud also wrote a guide to DC gay bathhouses for the City Paper. No need for details, you get the idea.
Cut to the present. Cloud, now ensconced at Time, offers a gigantic cover story on gay teens. According to Cloud, "Kids are disclosing their homosexuality with unprecedented regularity -- and they are doing it much younger." Moreover, even conservatives are getting on board. "When their kids come out," Cloud writes, "many conservatives -- just ask the Vice President -- start to seem uncomfortable with traditionalist, rigid views on gays." The kids these days are entering a brave new world: "Until recently, growing up gay meant awaiting a lifetime of secrecy -- furtive encounters, darkened bar windows, crushing deracination." Sounds like a memory from his days in DC.
The Time piece is nothing so much as a position paper for the Human Rights Campaign, America's largest gay lobby. These days gay teens "no longer need endure the baleful combination of loneliness and longing that characterized the childhood of so many gay adults" (not to mention the adulthood of certain journalists). Books, networks, movies and big business all cater to gays. These days, "at many schools it is now profoundly uncool to be seen as anti-gay." Furthermore, "it's important to note that nearly all mental-health professionals agree that trying to reject one's homosexual impulses will usually be fruitless and depressing."

ACTION ALERT: Homosexual Activist Poses As ‘Time’ Magazine Journalist
October 13, 2005 – John Cloud, a homosexual activist who writes for Time magazine has recently written the cover story for Time (Oct. 10, 2005) on “The Battle Over Gay Teens.” The article does not reveal that Cloud is a promiscuous homosexual who admits enjoying anonymous sex.
Cloud’s article presents a positive portrayal of so-called “gay teens” who are establishing networks of Gay Straight Alliance clubs on campuses all over the United States. These GSAs are sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) headed by homosexual radical Kevin Jennings.

Cloud also describes the Point Foundation, a homosexual-funded organization that gives scholarships to individuals who claim a gay identity.
He also carefully smears ex-gay ministries like Exodus International and Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays (PFOX) by pointing out that some individuals struggling with same-sex attractions lose the battle to overcome these life-controlling behaviors.
Cloud has written extensively on the homosexual and transgender movements in the U.S., using his position as a Time writer to promote the normalization of sodomy and transsexualism. He has also gone on record attacking the Boy Scouts by cleverly comparing them to the KKK because of their policy on homosexuals.
Transsexuals, A Persecuted Minority?
John Cloud penned a pro-transgender article for Time (July 20, 1998) titled, “Trans Across America: Watch out, Pat Buchanan. Ridiculed for years, ‘transgenders’ are emerging as the newest group to demand equality.”
In it, Cloud promotes the radical concept that a person who thinks he’s the opposite sex is simply part of an oppressed minority. He favorably quotes Riki Anne Wilchins, a transgender who has declared war on the idea that there are two sexes. Wilchins is a key leader in the transgender movement. He believes that divisions of the sexes into male and female are “constructed social roles” and create a gender oppressed culture that must be overthrown. Cloud apparently agrees.
Boy Scouts Like The KKK?
In “Can A Scout Be Gay?” for Time (April 26, 2000), Cloud portrays the Boy Scouts as akin to the KKK for its policies restricting homosexuals from leadership or membership in the organization.
In the article, Cloud discusses the Supreme Court case of the Boy Scouts of America vs. James Dale. Dale is a homosexual who sued the Boy Scouts for its refusal to allow open homosexuals to be members. Dale eventually lost the case at the Supreme Court. Cloud’s article was written before the case was decided. Cloud observed: “If the Scouts win, they will help activists on the right reinforce a crumbling heteros-only wall around key social institutions (marriage being the most fraught).
Cloud gets his political agenda into the article by quoting others who clearly support his views. He quotes homosexual activists who say that fighting against the Boy Scouts “isn’t so much on a group’s right to exclusivity—no one is arguing that the Ku Klux Klan must admit Jews—as it is whether a group like the Boy Scouts, which generally welcomes every boy, can claim that being anti-gay is a part of its core values. (As a practical matter, the NAACP isn’t worried: it has filed a brief against the Scouts). In two sentences, Cloud has linked the Scouts with the KKK and racism.

Time Magazine: The Battle With the Facts Over Gay Teens in America

Time Magazine’s cover story for this week is called The Battle Over Gay Teens, however when one takes a few moments to examine the contents of this verbose six-page article the author, John Cloud, really is talking about the promotion and acceptance of gay teens in America.The unbelievable bias for the promotion of gay teens is absolutely amazing despite the fact that Cloud attempts to cite a few conservative or Christian viewpoints.
Here are a few blatant examples of bias that Cloud cites…
Cloud cites statistics taken from a book titled The New Gay Teenager, a book by Harvard University Press – a well known liberal publisher. Cloud also cites statistics from Berkeley, UCLA, The Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network which all hold an obvious liberal viewpoint. (None are described as liberal.) Totally absent from his research are statistics from any well known conservative and/or Christian organizations.
Another unbelievable distortion that Cloud cites is that, “It’s important to note that nearly all mental-health professionals agree that trying to reject one’s homosexual impulses will usually be fruitless and depressing – and can lead to suicide, according to Dr. Jack Drescher of the American Psychiatric Association…”
The fact is that Dr. Jack Drescher does not speak for all mental health professionals and to say blatantly that all mental health professionals agree that trying to reject one’s homosexual impulses is fruitless is frankly untrue. Maybe John Cloud isn’t aware that there is a Christian organization for mental health professionals called The American Association of Christian Counselors that undoubtedly have mental health professionals that disagree with Dr. Drescher’s statements. Maybe Cloud is unaware of the work of Dr. Warren Throckmorton who has done extensive research in the area of overcoming homosexuality, including producing a DVD called I Do Exist about those who have left homosexuality. Or maybe Cloud just wants the public to believe that everyone in the world thinks promoting homosexuality to gay teens is acceptable.
Another example of bias against those who believe that homosexuality can be changed and is not an acceptable behavior is the denial of the conservative nonprofit group called Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX), by the PTA in setting up an exhibit at one of their PTA conferences. The PTA denied the exhibit based on a perceived belief that PFOX had an “agenda”, and yet the PTA allowed a pro-gay organization called PFLAG – Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. The very denial of equal access is evidence of bias against those who choose not to be gay. (Cloud does report this snub in his PFOX paragraphs.)
And also a special note concerning the linkage on the Time magazine website. Time conveniently linked all the gay organizations, but did not link any of the conservative ones in the article. Bias? Yeah...
The article becomes more troubling as you read about a retreat that the liberal and pro-gay Point Foundation gave in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Thirty eight students were given the following in a gift bag at this retreat,
A 9½-oz. jar of American Spoon Sour Cherry Preserves, a Fujifilm QuickSnap Flash camera, a small tin of Trendy Mints from Henri Bendel, New York City , and a DVD of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," a 2001 film in which a teenage boy is masturbated by an adult, The Harbor Springs Visitors Guide, and The Aug. 16 issue of the gay magazine the Advocate, whose cover featured a shirtless man and blared, SUMMER SEX ISSUE.
Cloud makes sure to cite that there was one 17 year old at this retreat who received this R rated DVD that promotes adult-child sex and transsexuality.
Which raises an interesting question – why is it okay to tell gay teenagers it’s okay to have sex with adults, but our society has laws protecting children and teens from adults having sex with them? Remember – adults and children having sex together is a criminal act in this country, and yet the promotion of gay teens is allowing for this deviant and criminal allowance. Why?
Time magazine has failed miserably with this week's cover story. The bias and support of child-adult sex is unacceptable, the denial of the facts from a conservative viewpoint is unacceptable and the denial and dismissal of the possibility of successful ex-gays is unacceptable. John Cloud, try again.
