Senior Iran cleric: Prostitutes must be hanged

Tehran, Iran, Oct. 10 – A senior Iranian cleric in the city of Qom called for death sentences to be handed down to prostitutes, a semi-official daily reported on Monday.

“Those who try to spread prostitution, corruption, and sins in society must be dealt with”, Ayatollah Nasser Makarem-Shirazi, one of the highest-ranking clerics in the holy city, said.

Shirazi said that drug dealers were among those who were spreading corruption in society, according to the hard-line daily Jomhouri Islami.

“These people are Mofsid Fi-Alarz and must be dealt with under Islamic law”, the senior Ayatollah said. Mofsid Fi-Alarz literally means “corruptors on earth” and under Iran’s Sharia law is punishable by death.

“If everyone feels responsibility for the orders of Islam, no one will dare to spread prostitution”, he said. “Anyone who stays silent in the face of social disorder and centres of corruption and prostitution has actually betrayed Islam”.

Of course if a man rapes a 10 year old girl and takes her as his wife, he is a good Muslim following in the footsteps of the pedophile who founded their deathcult.

Well, that's better than saying prostitutes should be hung. That would just be disturbing.

OK. So one does not stay silent, but noisily rejoices and joins the party. How's that?

Ya know, it was about 3 - 4 years of the Taliban doing the same crap before they got to find out what Hell was really all about. I don't think this time around it will take that long maybe months but definitely not years.

I think that barring a terrorist attack that can be directly linked to Iran, they probably have a reprieve until Ramadan ends. But come November, we will show them the Hell that they have deserved since November of 1979.

These Muslim Clerics love to kill folks dont they?

Most of all they like beating women and stoning them.

I bet this guy would get a Wopody stoning some poor prostitute to death. Sick pack of slime that they are.

These are some sick puppies, but something even sicker is a woman who would be a suicide bomber for a simple scumbag like this.

There was a guy in the USA like this. He was called the Green River Killer -- Sadly not sentenced to death but at least locked up finally.

Ever hear of a Thai Klatoy in Bangkok? Female impersonators working as whores on in the bars.

Ya know, that is a good point. Aren't the 72 vigins just
prostitutes? Do they marry them on the other side? Where is the loophole here?

It will be interesting to see whether this kind of Islamic "justice" starts showing up in Iraq, now that the Shias have approved a constitution that designates Islam as the rule against which all laws must be measured. The Shias are into Shariah, as I understand it.

Sadly, we won't be doing what needs to be done anytime soon.

Political correctness trumps truth these days. Balls badly needed at the top. None in evidence recently.

If all of these "holy" muslims don't go to prostitutes, how could there possibly be any?

After all, the muslim men are so much superior to the lowly women...just tell the men not to visit a prostitute, and, viola, problem solved.

Next...

We're going to attack Iran because they're Muslim fundamentalists? How does that square with our supporting a constitution in Iraq that declares Islam the official religion -- and that was supported by Shia Muslims who are allied with Iran? Is Islam bad in Iraq but good in Iran?, or good in Iraq but bad in Iran? -- I don' get you, but it sounds like you're very selective in your condemnation of fundamentalist Islam.

Will death sentences be handed down to men who hire prostitutes?
