One way ticket to the moon would be nice.
It made the papers here in NYC, though the story could have been a lot funnier.
Thanks very much....in that case I'm wrong (and quite surprised) about it being ignored. I wonder if this revelation will get the same amount of attention that the original drug bust did?
(In my best Red from That 70's Show voice): "George, you're a dumnba$$. And get that crap off your face."
Don't be surprised, NY eats up celebrity scandal like popcorn. Though I don't think Boy George even counts as a legit "celebrity sighting" anymore.
They would probably get along just fine....I remember a few stories during the Afghanistan invasion about Coalition soldiers being endlessly propositioned by homosexuals there.
Apparently, it has something to do with the lousy way that they treat women. Because of that, homosexuality is quite popular even though it's forbidden by the Koran.
Please don't mention the word "moon" around Georgy Porgy...it might just turn him on.
Figures.
Outside of Podheretz and the op-ed page, has it done much coverage of the Miers nomination?
I haven't picked it up in a few weeks.
I bet you're right....I'm kinda curious as to how the MSM will handle this, if @ all.
But WHO CARES if he had a lil nose candy around the house? I certainly don't.
do you think that it will make a difference that it has to do with a homosexual prostitute?
Actually, I'm thinking that it might not.....we all remember what happened with Eddie Murphy and it was reported all over the place....I think that he's back making movies again now isn't he? I guess it didn't do too much damage to his career.
Either the Post or the News. I read five or six papers a day, so it's difficult to keep sources straight for individual stories. I'd lean toward the Post, since they still cover the courts. That said, again, it could have been written a lot more funny.
Eddie Murphy picked up a tranvestite (a major oops!)and was still mid-career. Boy George is pretty much retired, so that makes a difference.
Here's a picture of this clown without his makeup. Nothing more pathetic than a middle-aged drag queen.
I've been reading Opinionjournal.com lately for coverage on the SCOTUS nomination.
Except for the featured article, there's not much that I would miss by restricting myself to the online version of the Journal's editorial and op-ed pages.
TWFB.
I like the Times/Post/Daily News for the local news. WSJ for laughs. USA Today for killing time. Financial Times is good, though. New York Observer (weekly) for my snarky fix.
United Press International - NewsTrack - More details leak on Boy George arrest
NEW YORK, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Boy George reportedly had a male prostitute in his loft who tried to rob him the morning of his cocaine bust, the New York Post said Friday.
The newspaper says Boy George, aka George O'Dowd, called police to his New York loft to file a complaint about the hustler who reportedly demanded he turn over all the money in the house.
When police arrived, the prostitute was gone, but they saw a small amount of cocaine sitting near O'Dowd's computer. Police sources said a "friend" of the singer-turned-DJ blurted out there "was a lot more" coke in the bedroom.
The former Culture Club frontman has repeatedly insisted the 13 bags of coke found by police did not belong to him.
O'Dowd flew to London after his arrest under orders to return to New York for a Dec. 19 hearing on the drug charges.

GEORGE 'HOOKER ROB BID'
POP star Boy George was arrested on a drugs charge after hiring a male prostitute who tried to rob him, it was claimed yesterday. The ex-Culture Club singer called police to his New York home saying he was being burgled but was held for allegedly having cocaine. A newspaper in the city claimed the hooker demanded all his money. It quoted a source: "George said no and that he was going to call police. The prostitute said, 'Go ahead and you'll go to jail'. George called the police, the prostitute left and George got arrested." George, real name George O'Dowd, appeared in court and must attend a hearing in December. His lawyer said outside court: "He does not know where the drugs came from."

I didn't appreciate the (forced) departure of Scott McConnell either.
Add to that the fact that they've dropped Hilton Kramer, Don Feder, and a host of other equally captivating syndicated columnists-in favor of substandard in-house talent-and there really isn't much too offer.
Plus, they're in the tank for HRC.
Nuff said.
