Yes, there is a source for that information. I heard it discussed on Fox news and Hannity the other day and the guy wasn't drunk, he was an addict with a record who looked drugs staggering around. He walked into a policeman on a horse, sounded out of it when cops approached him and then it resulted in what you see there.

If it makes you feel any better, the policeman on the horse he ran into before the camera went on was BLACK. So they were handling a drug addict who was not being cooperative in the situation at all.

I think the police are treated like villains far to often, and then bad neighborhoods wonder why the police don't get more active at doing their job after they go after the cops?

When the cops get sued for doing their jobs as best they could IMO, the police in response lets the neighborhood kill each other because if they get involved they get sued or charged with doing their job.

I have experienced the overbearing, macho, abuse of police officers firsthand. I know that many officers are operating with a mis-guided sense of us against them that leads to excess and abuse.

Let me get this straight:

You heard that the victim was a drug addict on H&C the other day? I heard that he is that also. Only that he was reformed (IE-a long time ago).

I'm still looking for some sort of source for your complaints to me. (Hearing about him being a reformed addict is not a source)

FWIW...were all on the same side, so I'm just looking for some clarification of your verbal attack.

And I'm sure they've come across the stupid criminal types that have put officers in jeopardy of their life. This of would would make them become cautious so they can go home at night. They don't get paid to come in second in an argument to die.

They are on a job where people can kill you every day.
Their sense of what they are up against in the modern world might if anything be underestimated.

I don't know what your circumstance was, but something must have made you seem a problem to them if you were roughed up.
Could have been where and with whom you were hanging with.
Could have been you showed up when they were handling a situation.
Could have been you fit the description of a suspect and they had to check you out.
Could have been you were driving on the road poorly.
I have no clue.

I've been pulled over before by 8 cop cars with guns out.
I put my hands palms out on the steering wheel.
Turned out they just had a robbery a few blocks away and my car fit the description of one that was just used, but I wasn't the criminal.
Was I shaken up and threatened by the situation? Sure, but how else are they to do their job and not get killed?

You talking about cops or soldiers? My money says you are talking about police. Almost no one ever comes to the defense of a GI, and that is the point of this whole thread. Duh.

No, I heard that the guy was swaying into things when he was walking and appeared to be drunk. He became most noticeably to be a danger to himself when he walked into a BLACK policeman on a horse.
Ended up there was a lack of cooperation, he wasn't a drunk, but did have a history with drugs in his past and it is thought he was on something.

Even if he had an ear infection and was stumbling around, all he would have to do was comply.
He wasn't deaf, so he should have not lipped off and cooperated.

Seems at the very least he was swaying around, appeared drunk and the police went at him when he didn't cooperate.

Who knows, maybe he even told the cops to kiss his ass like Rodney King did. I don't know what words were exchanged though.

I'm talking about the police, of which many would be ex military. Seems so many are willing to hate the police/military so easily.

I served 23 years in the US Army. I am extremely skeptical of policemen. I believe in my heart that many of them join just so they can exercise power over other people. Carrying a gun and a stick makes them feel macho and they tend to abuse their power. Fortunately there is an occasional camera to record their abuse. Again, this is not a blanket statement, but I am convinced there are plenty of bad apples in every police force.

I have family back east that deal with some hard neighborhoods that are police, fire and I also play racquetball now with some kids in college that are going into law enforcement. They all are honorable and some have been hurt out of their job by the job they do.

I frankly consider it a low paying thankless job for what they do. Yet, they are what stands between us and anarchy IMO.

Sure, I agree with you a tiny percent are idiots or maybe even criminal, but I don't give videos much credit in cases like these.

The video starts at the middle and didn't catch the beginning with the stumbling and running into the horse. You also don't know what words were happening there between the police and this fellow. Seems he might not have been cooperating. It isn't debate time IMO when a cops says to do something.

Because this was a video after the start of something (much like King), look for him to make money for his probably belligerence.
