"The American Cancer Society (ACS) is deeply concerned about the quality of life of cancer patients, and so supports carefully controlled, legal clinical studies of marijuana and research to see if Marinol can be delivered through a transdermal THC skin patch," says Harmon Eyre, MD, executive vice president for research and medical affairs at ACS.

"But the ACS does not advocate inhaling smoke, nor the legalization of marijuana," adds Eyre.
