What a bunch of garbage! Are there any security measures we can take that will pass muster with these people? Give the guy his $900 back and be done with the little nuisance.
The Link is considered private property. You follow the rules or you go home. Pat downs are conducted by the security force (independent contractors), with Phila. Police backup.
I've never seen any one arrested, but I've seen lots and lots of alcohol get "confiscated"....
Sorry if you thought I was being critical; I wasn't. Just so many people have been complaining about pat downs at NFL games, I was trying to explain why. Sorry.AWB
P.S. I'm a Packers fan, so my sense of humor has been shot this year.AWB
Thank goodness the ACLU weren't manning the gates at the OU v. Kansas a couple weeks ago.
I think they should be allowed to do pat-downs, but instituting the policy is a change to the contract for season ticket holders, and those who don't agree should have their remaining money refunded.
See, constitutional law doesn't require 30 years of training.
Well, the New Orleans game should have snapped you out of the doldrums. We could not even beat Arizona!!
As long as they are offduty I don't have a problem with it.
It's private property and they can do what they want.
Hmmm. What does give the city the "right" to send uniform cops to police private property?
The Texans? As in Tarleton State University? They won last week 37-7!
The words "crowded football staduim" do not appear in the 4th Amendment.
There are two and only two distinct possibilities:
1. The government owns the stadium, in which case the 4th Amendment comes into play.
2. The stadium is privately owned (and by that I mean the taxpayers didn't pay for it), in which case the stadium's owners can set whatever admission rules they like, including searches.
If I am a season ticket holder and the team decides -- after I've already paid for my tickets -- to make a major change in their admission policy (like requiring every fan to undergo a strip search), then they have clearly violated the terms of our "agreement."
The N.O. victory doesn't remove the sting of being last in a division being led by Da Bears. No offense meant but I don't think the expectations for S.F. were nearly as high as it was for the Pack.AWB
The option 3 that occures most often... is tax payers pay for stadium... then deed the stadium to the team owner. So they paid for it... but don't own it now.
Don't like the patdown? Don't go to the game.
ACLU ping !!! Here's some real BS for you.
None taken. I seriously thought we had a remote chance of having a .500 season. Looks like now the best we can hope for is the #1 pick again.
I said last year we should have traded our #1 to anyone, for their #1's this year and next. SF's problems are far deeper then a lousy coach (Erikson last year) and a weak QB (Rattay).
So if we do finish with the number one, we will pass on Leinart, who I would rather have then Smith.
All he has to do is put the flask in the crotch area . They don't pat down there .
The Eagles and Phillies reimburse the city for the time that the officers are there. If you've ever been to an Eagles game, you'll understand why....
The cops that work the Phillies games make out pretty well...all OT, little work.
