It you're reduced to quoting from the Austin antiAmerican-Statesman, well, you may as well say "Hitler" and be done with it - you've already lost the argument.

And you seriously believe that President Bush and his advisors have actually not considered all the aspects you have handwring(ly) noted???
The
reports coming out seem to indicate that the Bush administration didn't consider much at all when nominating Miers.

National Guard "Scandal". I would give a month's pay to see a NEW attack from the Dems. I mean, it's really just getting boring. How about some creativity? I thought all those Hollywood people were supposed to be good at that?
I actually hope they do it again, maybe another MSM blowhard will fall!

Not only are you in bed with Barnes but you had to find an article from a week ago to get there. Totally, laughably pathetic.

You mean to say this Lottery Official doesn't really exist?
Are you telling me Ted Kennedy isn't going to make any hay out of this?
Do you mean to tell me this guy isn't going to quickly become the latest celebrity of the Left?
Do you want us all to believe that any of this is going to help Bush or the confirmation of his nominee?
I was really looking forward to a discussion about the proper role of the Judiciary. Instead it looks like Bush decided to pick someone who will just ensure we have another discussion about himself.

The Dems have done a good job of staying out of the way of the Bush Administration's judicial trainwreck thus far. But if they go down the National Guard road again, they will lose the political mommentum they're currently gaining (or, rather, that the Republicans are ceding) going into 2006.

I'd love nothing better than for somebody like Orrin Hatch to go after Ben Barnes and question him
C'mon, Sink...have you ever, ever seen Hatch "go after" anyone?

Texas (is it the water?) that they have so many of the most psychotic Democrats outside of California and Massachusetts"
I think you've nailed it, they still can't believe they've lost power in Texas, after all they had it for so many years, it was a tradition, it was sacred, how could it have possibly changed?

During the Inquisition, Miers will rightfully claim attorney/client privilege in answer to many questions they'll throw at her regarding GW's NG service, etc.
The Dims know she doesn't have to and won't answer this type of bilge.....but they'll zap her with it anyhow till the bulls come home.
The more "I can't answer" replies she gives all week, the worse she will look (and by extension, the President)......
At least the Dimmies hope this will be the result.
I hope they overreach and fall flat on their assorted Dorian Greys.

I didn't write the article. I'm just alerting you to what's coming down the pike... again.
this is what's all over the Left-wing blogs.
Don't shoot the messenger.
You need to be asking yourself if you want to have this debate all over again, because that's what we're going to get with Miers.

I understand that there were openings in the AIR National Guard that went unfilled during this time, because of the qualifying conditions to go into the ANG. So - if W qualified for the ANG, no one would have had to talk them into taking him. And if he didn't qualify, they wouldn't have taken him - period.
On another note, I worked with Ben Barnes' grandson on a local election last year. Very nice young man. Appears to be a good conservative.
