Even if I were an internationalist and supportive of world government, I wouldn't want to give this UN taxing authority. If the US left the UN, what bad thing would happen? Its not like there aren't other forums in the world where we are involved and respected more.

US out of the UN.
UN out of the US.

Liberals and the UN are always inexorably opposed to tax cuts, because tax
cuts give people more power, and take away from the role of government.

It's always an irritation to read these articles on global welfare programs, or the UN wanting control of the Internet or tax of the Internet...

If you think the Internal Revenue Service is tough, wait until the Blue Helmeted U.N. World Taxman gets you in its talons.
The Food-For-Oil scam has kept the high Mucky Mucks at the U.N. satisfied with their share of the swag. Now that the Food-for-Oil gang is busted up, the U.N. has dusted off its long awaited "U.N.World Tax" planned decades ago.
This tax will apply on the "rich" nations of the world (read, nations in the West). It is the grand plan to redistribute wealth away from those who have earned it to those who stand around around waiting for Sally Strut hers and her camera crews to come along and stick a Twinkie in their mouths.
A U. N. World Tax will require a World Government to administer and enforce its collection and distribution..
The Bush dynasty have always supported the U.N. and what Bush the Elder calls the "New World Order."

Who in the heck does the U.N. think they are, that they can tax us for the "privilege" of living in the world? I am an American citizen -- I will never swear allegiance to any other country, and that includes becoming a "citizen of the world."
I can't wait to see this no-good, corrupt, disgusting waste-of-oxygen organization toppled.

If the federal govmint slapped on a tax in one form or another that went to the UN would you pay it just because they told you to?
To: mcar
(sarcasm) I support a global tax where the rest of the world pays the U.S. not to nuke them into the stoneage.

For taxes, you need legislation
For legislation, you need enforcement
For enforcement, you need military
For military, you need people, equipment, money
For money, you need taxes ...
Now that's settled.
