"Sen. George Allen and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and ahead of other Republican luminaries like former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and Arizona Sen. John McCain"

Haley Barbour is the ONLY one of that bunch I would vote for. However I do not want him to run. I prefer he stay here.
As for Wayne Dowdy, I feel sorry for everyone out there that has not had the distinct pleasure of hearing him make an a$$ of himself on the radio. Dowdy on a call-in show is funnier than Eddy Murphy at his best.

MS may be the "official" abbreviation for the state of Mississippi, but I still prefer the old way.
Miss.

I agree if Rudy is the nominee I will stay home or vote third
party.

In Wayne "Howdy Doody" Dowdy we have our on personal
Howard Dean.

Yes, the Yankees are done for, at least for this year (thanks to a collision in the outfield and a questionable out at first).

The last time a Mississippian was President, he lost a war.

I'm open to considering Haley Barbour. I just don't know if enough of the country can be sold on him, or whether he is the Republicans' best hope for 2008.

It's funny how the MSM hasn't really been saying too much about his leadership. But then again, it's the MSM.

And given his troubles in Mississippi with cutting Medicaid and funding education, it wasn't assured he'd win re-election in 2007

Oh please what democrat was gonna beat him? Lets get real here kiddies

He's got my vote (and cash) and I like the way he talks...like me.

At least he's not a social lib like the three GOP frontrunners (Rudi, Condi, McCainiac)

and since I know folks who know him well, I'm tossing my name in the hat now for future SCOTUS nominee...should he win....

btw...his pugnaciousness is an asset

he would be interesting to see how the media would treat him having had to run a ground zero state on many cultural issues that do-gooders only read about or see on TV

is it correctly spelled?

it sounds sorta like it sounds

i still have trouble with ie or ei

fortunately vocabulary can continue as long as one is lucid

Agreed. I want him to stay here too, but I think he might be on the '08 ticket, or ASKED to be on the ticket.

I look bad enough around here as it is sometimes.
If it wasn't for spell check nobody would pay attention
to me. Before FR gave us spell check I would move
it to Word if had any doubts.

Now that's all out the window if I mad or in a hurry.

There is "another" who has come out of the hurricane debris looking Presidential and that is General Honore...I sure like a man who looks the media in the eye and says "don't get stuck on stupid" plus when he took over the leadership of the aftermath, things started happening and working! That's leadership and we need a guy like him.
