You just don't beat up a 64 year old drunk, even if that was what he was. He wasn't threatening anyone.
Was there a history of abuse or violent that they had knowledge of before they began the abuse.??
Oh Rodneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!
They did NOT beat that man....he attacked their fists over and over again.
NOLA, from the Mayor's office to the newest LEO on the street, is as corrupt as you will ever see. Reminds me of Mexico.
I pity the people that live there, and I pity the fools that go there looking for a "good time".
The NO finest at it again? Maybe they thought the guy was after their stash from looting.
Hey, just because there are five hundred New Orleans police that ran like rats from Katrina and left people to rot doesn't mean they'd lie about the guy being drunk. Or was it 500 cops on the police payroll who never existed in the first place? Either way, they're completely trustworthy gentlemen. cough cough
No doubt a lawsuit is coming, but how do you collect a settlement from a city that is bankrupt?
Sometimes the thin blue line is so thin that it can't hide all of those hoodlums hiding behind it.
The Mayor should take full responsibility for the misconduct and incompetency of his subordinates just like Pres. Bush was blamed and took full responsibility for the gross negligence and incompetency of his subordinates (federal and state) in the aftermath of the Katrina disaster.
The alleged victim should sue the Mayor not the police officers.
The CNN footage of the victim of these thugs with badges lying in a large pool of his own blood explains his booking picture. It would be amazing if he retains sight in his damaged eye.
Nice tourist advertisement. No sane person would ever set foot in that hellhole.
What about the phantom cops on the payrole????????
Lot of stink coming from south lousiana about now.
When even Mark Furhman says he's seen the tape 15 times and there appears to be no justification, you know the cops are toast. (per his appearance on FNC tonight)
If it were a crime to be drunk and stumbling on Bourbon Street, I'd be wearing a crocheted poncho made by my cellmate.
I've never been back and can't see why anyone would want to go there. This city doesn't have a chance and doesn't deserve one.
I am former law enforcement (Dept. of Justice) and I have been quiet over the past, say, 10 years. I am ashamed of most of today's law enforement. The professionalism has deteriorated to new lows each year. It seems that the police today are incapable of communicating with the citizenry they have sworn to protect. If these cops, and others, feel they are bad asses with badges and guns, they should go to where the bad asses with guns, but no badges, are. Training starts in Iraq, Afganistan or your local American ghetto today.
Louisiana is a third world country, and New Orleans is the most corrupt city in that stinking hellhole. Rita was supposed to finish the off sin city, but she was just a little off course.
I have hard for years that NO has the most corrupt police, but will reserve judgment until I actually see the tape. ( I haven't yet). Sorry, but I don't think the LAPD were wrong with King, but that doesn't mean these weren't.
You can't blame those officers. They were just stressed out working all that overtime covering for their fellow officers who have been vacationing in Las Vegas at taxpayer's expense.
"Police said Davis was booked on public intoxication, resisting arrest, battery on a police officer and public intimidation."
What in the world is "public intimidation", and how is it a crime? Sometimes I think they make things up as the go along.
Ray "I see people gettin' murdered" Nagin said, I dont know what the gentleman did, but whatever he did, he didnt deserve what I saw on tape.
---Nor did the public deserve to see you lie your arse off on video tape over what was going on in New Orleans Ray. And anything you have to say, NO ONE would ever believe, so shut up.
