Only if he refused to marry her.Depends ... is he from the family that swindled your grandpop out of that nice piece of bottomland? Were his people on the wrong side of the War? Are they Missionary Baptists and we're Primitive Baptists?
Good point about the Sunni-Shi'ite issue.

Oh, for heaven's sake. I'm indulging in a little cultural facetiousness, okay?

What, are you saying the girl was killed? That's not what the article says.

No, I'm saying that a barbarian lacks any sense of "honor" and in no case is this barbaric behavior justified.

No, of course it's not justified.

I can somehow see the leftists trying to portray this as an example of "progressive" Islam because this barbarian killed the man who impregnated his daughter/property, but didn't beat or kill his daughter/property.

Might you perchance have some unstated affinity for Sharia "law"?
I asked because I am curious at the rationalizations you propose for first degree murder, an act which is not acceptable under American or British law.
Not to mention the fact that the murder victim was described as dropping his studies to prepare for supporting his coming child and wife to be.
Yet you use the lack of a marriage on the moment she left the hospital as some justification for Islamics being Islamic. Short of an affinity for their "law" I am puzzled by your posts.

I see your point. I'm guessing, as "wideawake" mentioned, that the difference might have to do with the young man's being Iranian. In fact, thinking of the very superior Persian-Americans I've known, it wouldn't surprise me if his family had problems with his plans to marry a Bangladeshi.

Can you, wagglebee, fill us in as to what the second photo is showing? It looks like she's being buried alive. Truly dreadful if it's not doctored, and it doesn't look like it is.

My apologies, Dear Lady.
You are so good at it that I would like to suggest </sarc off> or ;-). Only because your use of the facetious is so good.

Thanks for the compliment. It's been a conflict all my life ... if I have to spell out "I'M JOKING, Y'ALL!" all the time, it spoils the joke. On the other hand, when everyone takes it seriously, that's no fun, either.

It is a woman being buried alive prior to being stoned to death.
Here is another picture of a stoning.

I thought the tradition was the shotgun wedding. Who the hell wants an unmarried pregnant daughter and a fatherless child to raise?

Thanks for posting the pictures and explaining them. It just further stiffens my resolve against these people, these mad savages.

If it's an "honor killing" that means everything is on the up and up, right?

It's real, and I've seen worse pictures than this of stonings. One of our fellow FReepers worked and lived in Saudi Arabia and witnessed a stoning. He described it to us in detail; what he related gave me absolute nightmares for weeks.
Bloody inhuman savages.

Honor Killings?
The ONLY honor would come from killing these lunatic bastards, before they have the opportunity to bring their madness to our world and our grandchildren...
