She will not be confirmed. She will be assailed by the left when they find out her views and the right will rip her for being a crony.

Bush better start looking again.

With the anti-Christians on both sides it may no longer be possible to appoint a confessing Christian.

This is not good.

She appears to be a God worshipping, pro-life... moderate conservative.

wow, ain't we lucky. Too bad there weren't any God worshipping, pro-life conservative conservatives available.

"Newspapers in Texas have reported that Justice Hecht and Ms. Miers were romantically involved...

"Yes, she goes to a pro-life church," Justice Hecht said, adding, "I know Harriet is, too." The two attended "two or three" anti-abortion fund-raising dinners in the early 1990's, he said, but added that she had not otherwise been active in the anti-abortion movement. "You can be just as pro-life as the day is long and can decide the Constitution requires Roe" to be upheld, he said."

Well, her boyfriend seems to be hinting that she'll uphold Roe. Given that George W Bush never asked about her views, I guess her boyfriend's word is all that we have.

As soon as the ACLU and the other leftist trash bags read this, it will be a whole different tune. You already know they are doubting W's response to the abortion conversation. They have been calling him a liar since right after 9/11 and they aren't going to stop now.

What a revolting article!
The MSM, the Left and many on the right are going after this woman because she is an Evangelical Christian.
Line up the people who are for her, and who are against her. They fall into one group- non Evangelicals and groups hostile to Evangelicals.
For me, that is one main thing in her favor.

Me too...

"The Dallas of political battles over minority and gay rights, of course, was substantially different from the predominantly white and segregated city where she was born the fourth of five children. "

The 4th of Five? All the rest were brothers, unless I'm mistaken. Hmmmm.. That makes her a first born daughter.

Amazing things, first borns. G. W. Bush, like his Dad, is a first born, as were all the Presidents of the USA, save one or two. Of the first 25 astronauts in NASA, ALL were first borns (two only borns...).

I'm guessing Harriet is even tougher than the msm is letting on; the hearings will be the test.

But look at what her boyfriend says:

"You can be just as pro-life as the day is long and can decide the Constitution requires Roe" to be upheld, he said."

Hopefully he's an ex boyfriend.

I'm also concerned that the pastor decided he was gonna do what he was going to do and not listen to the board of elders... and she went along with that.

I don't know that it'd turn me against her for nomination, but... it's an interesting story. The church *did* Purpose Driven last fall, and don't seem to be doing it anymore now that Ron Key is gone:
