Dick Morris is not always the brightest lightbulb.
He said that President Bush should distance himself from the religious right, pr-lifers, et al when running for reelection.
As it turned out, President Bush would not have won without the religious right, et al.

No. Texas was Gerrymandered in 2001 under the then DemocRAT majority. It was un-Gerrmandered in 2003 due to Governor Perry's insistence in holding special sessions. Republicans were getting close to 60% of the total vote for US House races but only getting 40% of the seats. I fail to see how correcting that imbalance is Gerrymandering.

But .. dickie poo .. when Martin Frost did it for the democrats - THAT WASN'T GERRMANDERING ..??
And .. not only that .. it was Martin Frost who sent his staff member into DeLay's office - TO STEAL A COPY OF DELAY's RE-DISTRICTING MAP. THE GUY WAS CAUGHT ON VIDEO - AND I DON'T RECALL HEARING ANY GREAT CRY OF WRONG DOING.

The worst case of redistricting I've heard of, was in Georgia. I'm still steamed about it.
The democrats' plan was taken to court. Someone testified that they took a pen and circled African-American neighborhoods along I-75, and made them a district. The case went to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled that the democrat redistricting was "an unconstitutional racial gerrymander."
This is one reason I'd support any Republican gerrymadnering, if it actually happened in Texas.

What is crucial is that DeLay managed to do something that is very, very wrong and highly injurious to our democracy to fix the elections for the House of Representatives, in effect to take the ballot out of our hands. First thing for the author to do is stop reading dimocRats talking points and research the truth. The old districts did NOT allow for the true representation of voters' wishes. The redistricting corrected the dimocRats unethical moves from the past.

How can you gerrymander an already gerrymandered district?
Dick Morris gets it wrong, once again.

Little Dick, Little Dick???? Will you ever even accidentally get something right?
If you knew even a small portion of what you like to pretend you know, you would understand the recent history of gerrymandering. Let me help you Little Dick.
After using Republican help to pass the Civil Rights Laws of 1964 and 1965, Long Ears Johnson once lamented that he well understood that passing those laws would lose the South for the Democrats. Now listen carefully Little Dick. By the 1970 census the Democrats could see the immediate future and the needed a way to save themselves: they gerrymanded the South. They carved up districts and packed districts with Republicans and spread out Democrats. That bought them enough time to get a smooth gerrymander machine working and by 1980 they had so much power in Texas ( a state that had become so conservative that men like John Towers were switching parties) that they had to bring Martin Frost in to fill a seat since all of their people were already safely elected. Frost a liberal Democrat from Queens NY established a residence in the district and "Shazam!" a new rat congressman was born. By the way Little Dick gerrymandering was FORCED on North Carolina by the DoJ. Or don't you remember the Black Congresswoman's district that had I 95 as its only area for miles. Not both side, but the highway itself!
Little Dick, you should know better than to try to fool the new media.

Yo, DICK. Can you say Gary Condit??? Your remember him don't you DICK?
You know, the guy who became an embarrassment for his OWN DemoncRAT party (something about a DEAD GIRL IIRC), so the RAT powers that be redrew HIS district on a whim to make him disappear? Now I could be wrong DICK but I don't recall that redistricting being done do to any new census data, they justed wanted him G-O-N-E.
But that was okay by you I guess, huh? As that was just "politics a usual" and "everbody does it" - you 'poop' for brains.
