Fortunately it's East of the Andes in the Jungle, in a less populated area. It was deep but typically quakes there are deeper than that...I have to look at this one.

Somewhere, right now... Some gal is swearing to a man that he shook her world... all the while she's referring to his deep pockets and large bank account.

Eh, looking at the historical sesimicity, it's a normal depth quake for the area, and there was a similar quake just north of it in the last 15 years. I was thinking of Bolivia where they have these insanely deep 500 km+ earthquakes.

Brings the total of M 7+ quakes in 2005 so far to 9; we'd need to have another 9 of these in the last three months of the year just to reach the normal average of 18 a year.

In doing some looking around this is the third largest quake of the year. The worst being the Christmas quake in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia.

And since the moon phase moonbats never take note of this, this quake was, of course, almost as far from a full or new moon as you can get.

That is one big earthquake! Thank God if it was in an unpopulated area.
