Actually, if Hoeven doesn't run, it doesn't necessarily mean that Conrad is home free. State Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem is a possible candidate if Hoeven doesn't run, and he's popular in ND. Other possibilities include state Public Service Commissioner Tony Clark, state Public Commissioner Kevin Kramer (who ran against Earl Pomeroy in 1996 & 1998), and state House Majority Leader Rick Berg.

I think Hoeven is running. He'd have said no already if he wasn't. He'll probably announce in January.
Stenehjem for the at-large House seat.
Keep in mind, everyone essentially knew Thune was running from July 2003 to January 2004, but he didn't announce till January 2004. I think it's a Dakota thing.
My pick too - perfect!
Yah, and if he wins, he'd be perfectly situated to run for Senate against Dorgan in 2010.
Who would be best to beat Comrade kent?
If he does nobody can beat him. He is simply the best at; 1. Taking pork home and 2. Getting the credit for it.
So was Tom Dashle.
