There is a fairly large community of SA Jews here in the ATL-area, that started getting out over 20 years ago. And agreed, the South Africans I've met have been good people, they should get "persecued immigrant" status of some sort, in my book, let'em come.

Funny story - I know one who came here with his family as a boy, who got an African-American scholarship for his last year of college, shortly after getting his citizenship. The black admins in the aid office weren't amused. I high-fived him and was lmbo when he first told me the story.

The South Africans & Zimbabweans we have in the UK are almost without fail hard working, pleasant, law-abiding folk who work hard to integrate. While IMO it's pretty disgusting that the Dutch won't grant automatic immigration rights to Afrikaners, their loss is our gain.
I just wish the government would make it easier for them to obtain citizenship, but I guess it's too much to expect a socialist like Blair to pay attention to the Commonwealth instead of the EU.
