Water finds it's own level, and thus in doing so... destroys many things...

True...but why is George Bush sending Rita to bust more levees? There are no more blacks in NO... If there are no more blacks, George Bush can't kill any of them... so what's the point?
Bush and Rove are sending Rita to try to chase down all those NOLA evacuees who managed to escape into Texas. Duh. That's obvious. :-)

Funny how they still say it though as they watch. But they say it is overflowing the patches due to rising water. So I see how the mean the remaining structure has not yet been compromised but only overtopping of the levee patches.

I'm sure Bush is lining up helicopters right now, to drop giant sandbags full of our money into the levee breaches.
I don't think $70 Billion will be enough this time.

Overtopping is the initial phase of levee failure. The 'overtopping' water cascades over the top and hits the foundation at tremendous force...pretty soon the foundation is eaten away, the levee fails and becomes a breech.

There are three major levee breaches possibly four. What is the source for your information? Is is truly and officially confirmed that these are breaches and not just overtopping of storm surge? Who has made what projections. It would occur to me that if it truly is breached, then NOLA will be as full of water by the end of the day as it was at any time in the last three weeks, no?
To: Fishtalk
Also, well I put it here while we wait for news about these levees....the National Enquirer is reporting that Bush has been drinking again.
Now I know it's the National Enquirer so take it for that. Why do you even mention this garbage? Anyone who believes this is an idiot.

Speaking of sandbagging, I looked up the term on an online dictionary in an attempt to come up with a humorous response, and couldn't believe what I found:
v. sand·bagged, sand·bag·ging, sand·bags 3. Slang b. To force by crude means; coerce: sandbagged us into cleaning up their mess.
That pretty much describes what the mayor, governor and media have done with the NOLA mess, doesn't it?

That pretty much describes what the mayor, governor and media have done with the NOLA mess, doesn't it? Yep, and the politicians in Washington D.C. couldn't get to cameras fast enough, in order to squander a couple hundred billion of our earnings, trying to buy votes.

and it also refers to flim flam artistry.
There's been a bit of that too.
